1. All questions are compulsory and carry equal marks but within a question, the
marks are distributed according to its requirements.
2. Read the question carefully and then answer it according to the requirements of the question.
3. Avoid irrelevant discussion/information and reproducing from books, study
guide or allied material.
4. Hand written scanned assignments are not acceptable.
5. Upload your typed (in Word or PDF format) assignments on or before the due date.
6. Your own analysis and synthesis will be appreciated.
7. Late assignments can’t be uploaded at LMS.

(Unit 1-5)
Q. 1 Discuss scientific method as a tool of acquiring knowledge. Compare it with
various steps in the research process. (20)
Q. 2 Compare and contrast the types of research. Why and where we use these types
(basic, applied action) research to discuss educational phenomena. (20)

Q. 3 Define the concepts of history and historical research. What is the important of
internal and external criticism in historical research? Also, distinguish primary
source of data from the secondary source of data with examples? (20)
Q. 4 Distinguish experimental research from non-experimental research studies How
experimental research is conducted? And why do we use experimental studies to
address the social issues? (20)

Q. 5 Define descriptive research, what are its major forms? Strengthen your answer with
the example of Case Studies, Causal Comparative studies and correlation studies.(20)

Q. 1 Discuss in detail the validity and reliability of tools for qualitative research.
Develop and interview for curriculum developer to explore the “existing
curriculum of secondary level in public school as the tool for socio-economic

Q. 2 Differentiate between sample and sampling. Discuss the importance of probable


and non-probable sampling techniques in qualitative and quantitative research. (20)

Q. 3 Develop a research proposal on “Higher Education in Pakistan: Issues, Challenges


and the Way forward” (20)

Q.4 Write the characteristics of a research report. What is a references in the research
report? Read APA manual 6th edition and enlist the rules of references for research
report. (20)

Q.5 Discuss questionnaire as a research tool covering the following concepts: its
construction, different forms and administration of a questionnaire. (20)
