HAZARD CLASSIFICATION
According to ADR and RID regulations, sodium hypochlorite solution is classified in Class 8 (corrosive substances) on the basis of its
characteristics. All necessary measures must be taken when transporting it in accordance with this classification.

PACKAGING AND TRANSPORT

Sodium hypochlorite can be loaded and delivered in rubber-coated tanks and plastic containers. It should be transported in containers in
accordance with ADR and RID regulations for both road and rail transport. Available packaging options are: 39kg containers, 1250kg IBC
tanks and bulk in 5-25tn tankers.

STORAGE
Sodium hypochlorite can be stored in tanks lined with rubber or plastic (PVC, fiberglass, polyester, polyethylene). The content of the
active ingredient (active chlorine content) of the solution, due to the decomposition of Hypochlorite, decreases over time, even during
transport. Sunlight, rising temperatures as well as the presence of heavy metals accelerate decomposition, so it is recommended to
store the solution in a cool, ventilated place protected from light.

SAFETY MEASURES
In case of contact with acids or acid vapors it creates chlorine gas, therefore it should not be stored and transported with acids. Its
strong oxidizing nature and alkali content cause swelling and slipping on the skin. Prolonged exposure results in burn-like lesions. In case
of contact with eyes, it immediately causes corneal inflammation and even blindness. Wearing suitable protective clothing, goggles and
rubber gloves is a must during handling. For more information, see the hardware safety data sheet.
