a) Operating System: An operating system (OS) is a set of computer programs that runs the computer
system.
b) Booting: When you start your computer, the loading up of operating system is known as booting.
c) Icons: a graphic symbol on a computer display screen that represents an application or a file.
d) Multitasking: The execution by a computer of more than one program or task simultaneously.

a) List the features of Window 10.

Ans. The features of Window 10 are as follows:
1. Windows 10 is completely free to upgrade.
2. A new feature in Window 10 is Snap Assist. It helps to view two different files in one frame.
3. Cortana -We can use it to set reminders, get weather forecasts, send an email, find files, and search the
Internet.
4. Window 10 is user-friendly.
5. It helps to view our applications in live tile mode.

b) What are universal apps of Windows?

Ans. Universal Windows Platform apps are applications that can be used across all compatible Microsoft
Windows devices, including personal computers, tablets, smartphones, Xbox One, Microsoft HoloLens, and
Internet of Things. UWP software is primarily purchased and downloaded via the Microsoft Store.
c) Describe the way to set up taskbar to the right side of the desktop.
Ans.
1. Right-click any blank space on your taskbar, then select Taskbar settings
2. In the Taskbar Settings window, set the Taskbar location on screen to Left, Top, Right, or Bottom.

d) What is the main purpose of mixed reality smart glasses developed by Microsoft?
Ans.
Windows Mixed Reality is a mixed reality platform introduced as part of the Windows 10 operating system,
which provides augmented reality and mixed reality experiences with compatible head-mounted displays.
These can be used to display information, blend with the real world, or even simulate a virtual world.

e) Mention the functions of operating system.

Ans.
The functions of OS are as follows:
1. It keeps track of files and folders.
2. It controls the hardware devices.
3. It allows other programs such as Word, Flash and Paint to run.

f) How are live tiles different from icons?

Ans.

A tile is a type of shortcut you can only find in a grid, on the right side of your Windows 10 Start Menu. Colorful,
sometimes animated, and larger than the regular sized icons used for desktop shortcuts.
