The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes -0417 and -0439
and On.

NOTE: Airplanes -0300 thru -0347 must incorporate SB525A-34-31 Navigation - V-Speed Enable And
Software Upgrade prior to or in conjunction with this service bulletin.

REASON
A more precise satellite based augmentation system is required to fly LP, LPV, LNAV, and VNAV
approaches.

DESCRIPTION
This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to install WAAS capable components to fly precision
approaches.

COMPLIANCE
OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner.

A service bulletin published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only
when the following requirements are satisfied:

1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent
therein.
2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin
kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be
used to replace new parts.
3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as
approved and published.
4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft
serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin.
5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable
standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations.
No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any
changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without
prior written consent from Textron Aviation.

Cessna Citation CJ2 FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525AFMA)

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1) Disconnect the airplane battery.
(2) Disconnect external electrical power.
C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them.
2. Contact Collins Aerospace Customer Support to request a copy of the Rockwell Collins Operator's Guide
for the FMS-3000 v4.0 (part number 523-0810168-001117 or later) at phone number 1-316-517-5800 or
customercare@cessna.textron.com.
3. Remove both IOC modules and FMC-3000 cards from the IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model
525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics Processor System -
Maintenance Practices.)
4. Remove the GPS-4000A GPS receiver(s). (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34,
Collins FMS-3000 Flight Management System - Maintenance Practices.)
5. Remove the furnishing from the right side of the airplane. (Refer to the applicable sections of the Model
525A Maintenance Manual and Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog.)
6. Remove the headliner and sidewalls. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25,
Headliner and Sidewall Maintenance Practices.)
7. Remove the floorboards that follow: (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access
Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.)

8. (Airplanes -0300 thru -0347) Install the GPS antenna(s).
A. Install the left GPS antenna.
(1) (Refer to Figure 1, View A-A.) Remove and discard the parts that follow:
• Four MS24694C54 Screws
• One 822-1330-001 GPS Antenna
• Four S2031-3 Nutplates
• One 9123029-3 Doubler
(2) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Install the 9190168-12 Doubler.
(a) Put the 9190168-12 Doubler in position and identify the hole locations.
(b) Remove 14 fasteners from the airplane structure.
• Remove two fasteners from the 2L stringer.
• Remove two fasteners from the 1 stringer.
• Remove five fasteners from the 151.00 frame.
• Remove five fasteners from the 158.72 frame.

(c) Match drill 35 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler that
align with the holes in the airplane structure.

(d) Drill 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler and airplane
structure.

(e) Countersink the 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes that were drilled in the
9190168-12 Doubler and airplane structure 100° x 0.189 inch diameter.

(f) Match drill four 0.203 inch-diameter holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler that align with the
holes in the airplane structure.

(g) Match drill eight Number 40 (0.098 inch-diameter) holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler that
align with the holes in the airplane structure.

(h) Remove the 9190168-12 Doubler and deburr the drilled holes.

(i) Install the 9190168-12 Doubler with temporary sheet metal fasteners.

(j) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Make the existing cutout larger.

(k) Remove the 9190168-12 Doubler and deburr the cutout.

(l) Use the color chemical film treatment and corrosion resistant primer to protect all
bare material. (Refer to the Model 525A/525B Structural Repair Manual, Chapter 51,
Protective Treatment of Metal - Description and Operation.)

(m) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fay seal to the 9190168-12 Doubler. (Refer to
the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High
Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)

(n) Install one 9190168-12 Doubler with 26 CM3827AD4-5 Rivets and 27 CM3827AD4-4
Rivets.

(o) Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets wet with Type I
Class B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel,
Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.).

(p) Install three CM3827AD4-4 Rivets wet with Type I Class B2 Sealant to fill the open holes.
(Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure,
and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)

(3) (Refer to Figure 1, View B-B.) Install one CI428-410 Antenna with four MS24693S54 Screws.

(4) Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI428-410 Antenna and the
airframe structure. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical
Bonding - Maintenance Practices.)

(5) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin. (Refer
to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High
Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)

(6) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Citation Standard
Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing
- Maintenance Practices.)

(7) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Citation
Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance
Practices.)

B. Install the right GPS antenna.


(1) (Airplanes that have a rectangular shaped (Rockwell Collins) GPS antenna) Install the right
GPS antenna.
(a) (Refer to Figure 2, View A-A.) Remove and discard the parts that follow:
• Four MS24694C49 Screws
• One 822-1330-001 GPS Antenna
• Four S2031-3 Nutplates
• One 9123029 Doubler
(b) (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B.) Install the 9190168-12 Doubler.
1 Put the 9190168-12 Doubler in position and identify the hole locations.
2 Remove 4 fasteners from the airplane structure.
• Remove two fasteners from the 2R stringer.
• Remove two fasteners from the 1 stringer.
3 Match drill 36 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler
that align with the holes in the airplane structure.
4 Drill 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler and
airplane structure.
5 Countersink the 18 Number 30 (0.128 inch-diameter) holes that were drilled in the
9190168-12 Doubler and airplane structure 100° x 0.189 inch diameter.
6 Match drill four 0.203 inch-diameter holes in the 9190168-12 Doubler that align
with the holes in the airplane structure.
7 Drill eight Number 40 (0.098 inch-diameter) holes in the airplane structure and
9190168-12 Doubler for the NAS1473A08N Nutplates.
8 Remove the 9190168-12 Doubler and deburr the drilled holes.
9 Install the 9190168-12 Doubler with temporary sheet metal fasteners.
10 (Refer to Figure 2, Detail A.) Make the existing cutout larger.
11 Remove the 9190168-12 Doubler and deburr the cutout.
12 Use the color chemical film treatment and corrosion resistant primer to protect all
bare material. (Refer to the Model 525A/525B Structural Repair Manual, Chapter
51, Protective Treatment of Metal - Description and Operation.)
13 Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fay seal to the 9190168-12 Doubler. (Refer
to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure,
and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
14 Install one 9190168-12 Doubler with 26 CM3827AD4-5 Rivets and 28
CM3827AD4-4 Rivets.
15 Install three CM3827AD4-4 Rivets wet with Type I Class B2 Sealant to fill the open
holes. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather,
Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
16 Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets wet
with Type I Class B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual,
Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance
Practices.)
(c) (Refer to Figure 2, View B-B.) Install one CI428-410 Antenna with four MS24693S54
Screws.

(d) Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI428-410 Antenna and the
airframe structure. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical
Bonding - Maintenance Practices.)
(e) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin.
(Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure,
and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
(f) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Citation Standard
Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing -
Maintenance Practices.)
(g) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the
Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding -
Maintenance Practices.)
9. (Airplanes -0348 thru -0416 and -0418 thru -0438) Install the GPS antenna(s).
A. (Refer to Figure 3, View A-A.) Install the left GPS antenna.
(1) Remove and discard the parts that follow:
• Four MS27039-1-17 Screws
• One CI401-460 or 822-1330-001 GPS Antenna
• Four NAS1473A3 Nutplates
(2) Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets wet with Type I Class
B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather,
Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
(3) Install one CI428-410 Antenna with four MS24693S54 Screws.
(4) Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI428-410 Antenna and the
airframe structure. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical
Bonding - Maintenance Practices.)
(5) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin. (Refer
to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High
Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
(6) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Citation Standard
Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing
- Maintenance Practices.)
(7) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Citation
Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance
Practices.)
B. (Airplanes that have dual Rockwell Collins FMS.) (Refer to Figure 4, View A-A.) Install the right
GPS antenna.
(1) Remove and discard the parts that follow:
• Four MS27039-1-17 Screws
• One CI401-460 or 822-1330-001 GPS Antenna
• Four NAS1473A3 Nutplates
(2) Install four NAS1473A08N Nutplates with eight MS20426AD3-4A Rivets wet with Type I Class
B2 Sealant. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather,
Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
(3) Install one CI428-410 Antenna with four MS24693S54 Screws.
(4) Make sure that there is a Type I electrical bond between the CI428-410 Antenna and the
airframe structure. (Refer to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical
Bonding - Maintenance Practices.)

(5) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to apply a fillet seal between the antenna and the skin. (Refer
to the Citation Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High
Temperature Sealing - Maintenance Practices.)
(6) Use Type I Class B2 Sealant to overcoat the nutplates. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance
Manual, Chapter 20, Fuel, Weather, Pressure, and High Temperature Sealing - Maintenance
Practices.)
(7) Use Type V, Class A adhesive to fill the holes in the top of the antenna. (Refer to the Citation
Standard Practices Manual, Chapter 20, Adhesive and Solvent Bonding - Maintenance
Practices.)
10. (Refer to Figure 5.) Install the electrical wiring.
A. Add the electrical wiring between the GPS1 (PT700) and the aft pressure bulkhead connector
(PA305).
B. Add the electrical wiring between the GPS1 (PT700) and the PT703 connector.
C. Add the electrical wiring between the PT703 connector and the TGS701 ground stud.
D. Add the electrical wiring between the aft pressure bulkhead connector (JA305) and the forward
pressure bulkhead connector (JB402).
E. Add the electrical wiring between the forward pressure bulkhead connector (PB402) and the
IAPS (PN342).
F. (Airplanes that have dual Rockwell Collins FMS) (Refer to Figure 6, Sheet 1 and Sheet 2.) Install
the electrical wiring.
(1) Add the electrical wiring between the GPS2 (PN700) and the PN702 connector.
(2) Add the electrical wiring between the GPS2 (PN700) and the PN703 connector.
(3) Add the electrical wiring between the PN703 connector and the NGS314 connector.
(a) Airplanes that have incorporated the original issue or Revision 1 of this bulletin must
remove the wire that was installed between 9CPN703 and 13PN702.
(4) Add the electrical wiring between the PN343 connector and the JN702 connector.
11. (Refer to Figure 7, Detail A.) Install one 822-1361-412 IOC Module and one 822-0883-038 FMC-3000
Computer cards in the IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34,
Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.)
NOTE: Airplanes with dual Rockwell Collins FMS will install two FMC-3000 Computers.
A. (Refer to Figure 7, Detail A.) Remove two CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Units from the
IAPS card cage. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21
Integrated Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.)
B. (Refer to Figure 7, Detail B.) Remove one OCM-3100 from each CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping
Unit.
C. (Refer to Figure 7, Detail B.) Install one 822-1484-228 OCM-3100 on each CSU-3100 Configuration
Strapping Units.
D. (Refer to Figure 7, Detail A.) Install two CSU-3100 Configuration Strapping Units in the IAPS card
cage. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated
Avionics Processor System - Maintenance Practices.)
12. Install one 822-2189-010 GPS-4000S receiver. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter
34, Collins FMS-3000 Flight Management System - Maintenance Practices.)
NOTE: Airplanes with dual Rockwell Collins FMS will install two GPS-4000S.
13. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect external electrical power.

14. Do the Collins FMS-3000 flight management system functional test. (Refer to the Model 525A
Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, Collins FMS-3000 Flight Management System - Adjustment/Test.)
15. Pressurize the airplane to check for leaks around the installed antenna(s). (Refer to the Model 525A
Maintenance Manual, 21, Pressurization Control - Adjustment/Test.)
16. Install the access panels that were removed to install this modification. (Refer to the Model 525A
Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.)
17. Install the headliner and sidewalls. (Refer to the Model 525A Maintenance Manual, Chapter 25, Headliner
and Sidewall Maintenance Practices.)
18. Install the furnishing that were removed to install this modification. (Refer to the applicable sections of the
Model 525A Maintenance Manual and Interior Maintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog.)
19. Update the CJ2 FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525AFMA).
NOTE: Look at the configuration codes listed in the applicable supplement and/or in Section 1 of the FAA
Approved Airplane Flight Manual to make sure all changed crew procedures or limitations are
complied with.
A. Make sure that Supplement 25, Revision 3 or later is inserted into the CJ2 FAA Approved Airplane
Flight Manual (525AFMA).
20. Make sure the flight crew receives the Flight Crew Operations Summary, which shows the operational
changes that are a result of the accomplishment of this service bulletin.
21. (Owners/Operators) Go to the Rockwell Collins website and update your subscriptions for the FMS
group from J6 to J7.
22. Record that this service bulletin has been completed.
A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report.
B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook.
C. Send a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report to: CESCOM, P.O. Box 7706,
Wichita, KS 67277.
