BOG MANAGEMENT STUDY

1 BASIS DESIGN
LNG Composition
LNG Properties
NO COMPOSITION MOLE FRAC LNG Density = 434 kg/m3 @ -160 0C
1 Methane 0.9685 Heat of Vap = 625 KJ/kg
2 Ethane 0.0215 BOG Density = 2.07 kg/m3 @ -160 0C
3 Propane 0.0050
4 n-butane 0.0011 Tank Capacity = 75000 m3
5 i-butane 0.0009
6 i-pentane 0.0001 LNG Transfer Pump
7 n-pentane 0.0005 Capacity = 128.5 m3/h
8 Hexane 0.0000 Power = 19.5 KW
9 Nitrogen 0.0025 Qty 2 pump = 39 kW
10 Oxygen 0.0000
11 CO2 0.0000 LNG Unloading Pump
Capacity = 4000 m3/h
2 CALCULATION METHOD
1. Boil of Gas rate in tank shall be 0.06% vol/wt/day
2. Boil Of Gas rate at pump shall be calculate from power that convert to heat during pump
operation. Heat generated shall be calculate from efficiency
3. Heat Leak in pipe shall be 0.018 KW/m2

3 CALCULATION
A. BOG Rate Calculation
1. Heat leak into LNG Tank = 813.75 Kg/hr

2. LNG Transfer Pump = 224.64 Kg/hr

3. Heat Leak Into Pipe 24 In = 208.44 Kg/hr

4. Heat Leak Into Pipe 2 In = 65.52 Kg/hr

5 BOG Displacement during Unloading = 8280 Kg/hr

4 RESULT

1. BOG During Normal Operation: 1 Sendout + 1 standby

Tank sendout = 1312.35 Kg/hr
Tank standby = 813.75 Kg/hr
= 2126.10 Kg/hr
= 2834.81 Nm3/hr
2. BOG During Unloading Operation: 1 sendout + 1 receiving
Tank Sendout = 1312.35 Kg/hr
Tank Receiving = 813.75 Kg/hr
BOG Sent to Jetty = 8280.00 Kg/hr
= 10406.10 Kg/hr
= 13874.81 Nm3/hr
3. BOG sent to Jetty
4000 m3/hr = 8280.00 Kg/hr
= 11040.00 Nm3/hr

4. Circulation line = 274.0 Kg/hr

BOG Compressor Flowrate max = 1312.4 Kg/hr

min = 813.8 Kg/hr
Vapour Return Blower Flowrate = 8280.0 Kg/hr
