• Issue :

I bought Nothing Phone (2), with total amount paid of INR 35999 from Flipkart on 17th
July 2023. I received the product on 22nd July 2023 and same day I activated it. Since, the first
day, I faced several (7-8) crashdumps - system failures, till the date of 16th of October. But, on
16th Oct 2023, phone was not turning on. So, on 17th Oct 2023, I went to a Nothing authorised
service centre and I was told the motherboard of the phone is dead. I replaced it under warranty
and received the phone with replaced motherboard on 23rd Oct 2023.

But, now after this services, the fingerprint sensor was not working. Again, I had to go to
service centre on 26th Oct 2023, I was told that after replacement, the fingerprint sensor needs
to be recalibrated with new motherboard to function properly. So, the technician took the phone
and started to do calibration. But, half an hour later, reported me - ‘While recalibrating it, your
motherboard is dead again’. But, that was not the actual case. It was never dead but was
reported dead wrongfully to me. Same happened with fingerprint sensor, they reported it ‘dead
or bad’, but it was not. They failed to understand something and straight declared functional
parts of the phone dead which worth 70-80% of the phone’s original price - it is good that
Phone was under warranty. And, I don't even know if the original motherboard was dead or not.

Plus, during the second service, the service centre technicians physically damaged my
phone. I have attached images with short descriptions below (google photos links). Nothing has
a transparent glassback and internal components are visible - their design DNA which these
service centre guys ruined. Plus, even after 2 services, motherboard is crashing in crashdump
mode. I have faced 2 crashdumps since last service (i.e. 26 Oct - 7 Nov 2023) and I have
managed to record one of them as a proof. I have attached that video as a google photos link.
In addition to all defects, auto-brightness sensor seems to be not working as glyph lights are
always at maximum intensity all the time - even in the darkest room, IMEI numbers for new
motherboard are still said to be invalid by Nothing official website.

I wanted to raise these concerns to Nothing team, so I contacted support through email,
X platform (formerly Twitter), and on discord.

On X platform I received a reply that our team will help you and Nothing after that.

On email support We had few emails sent to and fro. But, they want me to do another service
at same service centre provider - F1 Info Solutions and Services Private
Limited, which I definitely do not want at any cost.

On Discord Discord community channel is officially maintained by Nothing and I raised my
query with long paragraphs, photos and videos - 4 times. I received a message
from a Nothing executive and he connected me to another executive. But, he again
asked me to do another service, 3rd service in 3 months. So, I asked him to send
the device to Bangalore’s Nothing exclusive service centre and not to any other
authorised service centre. He said - “Let me check”. And, next day scheduled a
pick and drop to another F1 Info Solutions and Services Private Limited without
even asking me. I asked for cancellation of pick and drop, but he did not. I had to
cancel that on my doorstep.

Plus, discord moderators which are there to enforce rules and escalate cases like
the one I am having - When everything other thing fails to give satisfaction to
customer. All 8 of them ignored my messages till the point I used a profanity word
“SHIT” for Nothing after-sales. They did not like that word and for, using that word
for their after-sales, they gave me a warning and when I asked where were they
when I explained this horrible, unsatisfactory services, one of them replied -
‘Swimming in my leisure centre’. I mean, out of 8 x 4 = 32 messages, they could
have send me a reply but didn’t and when I used a profanity word, then they
escalated my issues to so called “higher-up Nothing team”. They are so ignorant
and rude to talk for issues I facing where, as a customer I have done nothing wrong.
I had to talk to them like I own them something. Seriously, very very bad experience
in all places.

• Demand :

I am really really unsatisfied by Nothings after-sales service and if possible, I would like
to cut all ties with them by having a full refund for mobile phone which requires 3 services in just
3 months. They they claim to make tech fun again - no way it is fun but instead a hell for their
customers. At every step, I was somehow blamed for all of this, Nothings teams fails to
understand their customer concerns and also fails to take responsibilities of their bad service
centres. Their email support, twitter support and discord platform failed to understand my
concerns of not having another service at same service centre - F1 Info Solutions and Services
Private Limited, and hence, failed to give me a proper response and satisfactory solution. The
number of issues I was facing increased after 2 services at F1 Info Solutions. And, Nothing gave
solution as - to have another service with them, which is not fair at all.

Secondly, if refund is not possible, which itself is not fair, I would like to replace the
device. Its not even 3 months after purchase and motherboard - brain of the device is dead.
Plus, after 2 service also, Nothings has failed to clear all the issues with motherboard, leave
other new added problems. It has been my request from the very start when first time
motherboard was dead and after replacement of it also, I was facing the same issue.

• Reason for not having another service :

I have done 2 services at F1 Info Solutions and Services Private Limited, and as
mentioned above the issues still there.
- Motherboard still crashes in crashdumps - poor service quality
- Glyph auto-brightness sensor is not working - poor service quality
- IMEI numbers of the new replaced motherboard are still invalid on Nothing official
website - I don't even know why is it like this - it is an authorised service centre.
- Device is damaged by service centre guys physically - poor service quality
- Service centre guys named ‘Sunny’ - a front desk employee blamed me as all of his
technicians (2 in numbers) were working on my device and they were about face
workload because of it - Rude service centre technician.
- Both of them worked on my device and still declared functional motherboard and
fingerprint sensor dead - I am using those parts in my phone right now - Really
scary, what if this happened after 9 months when the device is longer under
warranty.
- I had to call them 7-8 times, message them on WhatsApp for 5 times, just to get the
jobsheet.

Overall, these 2 services I had are really unsatisfactory, no customer should experience
this type of services. As conveyed, phone still does not function as it is intended after 2
services and they declare parts of the phone dead on their wishes.

After these 2 horrible services, Nothing has asked me THRICE to do another service at
the same service centre - F1 Info Solutions and Services Private Limited, which I am not willing
to do. Now, I have so many trust issues not only with Nothing as a brand, with Nothing
executives and with Discord mods, but also with their service centres.

Thats why I am not having another service and have denied that thrice. This is the worst-
of-the-worst after-sales service I have ever received.

Update : On 19th of November (33 days later since the motherboard went dead), Nothing has
closed my service request when clearly I am still facing the issues after their 2 poor services
done on my device : Proof

Update : I tagged Nothing Support in a post on X platform and they asked to do DM them. I
did, explained again, must be 30th time. They started an investigation on the service provided
on 24th Nov 2023. Today on 5th of Dec 2023, another Manish from Noida called me and asked
me for 3rd service again which I denied for the 4th time : Proof

Not related to my case here, but I talked to someone from Haryana on telegram and he was
facing crashdumps issue on his Nothing Phone (2), he walked in a F1 Info Solutions and
Services Private Limited service centre with his phone turned on and working. They did some
software for fixing it, but 2 hours later reported him his motherboard is dead. He is been asked
to wait for 6-7 days for motherboard replacement. His jobsheet ID : . Really
