CROCHET PATTERN

CLOVER THE CHUBBY SHIBA INU

MATERIALS
stuffing
ABBREVIATIONS
MR = magic ring
3.5 mm hook (adjust sc = single crochet
according to yarn size) inc = increase
scissors and a darning needle dec = decrease
safety eyes FO = finish off
reddish tan and white ch = chain
worsted weight velvet yarn (or FLO = front loop only
any other type of yarn) BLO = back loop only
optional: white felt for details sl st = slip stitch
& fabric/hot glue st = stitch
cc = color change
dc = double crochet
HEAD
starting in reddish cream
1. 8 sc in MR (8)
2. 8 inc (16)
3. (sc, inc) x 8 (24)
4. (2sc, inc) x 8 (32)
5- 9. sc around (32) - 5 rounds
insert safety eyes between R8 and R9, 5 visible stitches apart
cc to white wherever there is white text

Stuff and FO, hide yarn tail

SNOUT
starting in white
1. 8 sc in MR, sl st to close
FO with a long tail for sewing

TAIL
Start in reddish cream
1. Chain 8
2. Into 2nd chain from hook, 2 dc into every stitch
The tail should curl up on its own as you crochet
FO with a long tail for sewing
EARS (X2)
starting in reddish cream
1. ch 6, starting in 2nd chain 5 sc (5)
2. turn work, dec, sc, dec (3)
3. turn work, dec, sc (2)
4. turn work, dec (1)
5. sc around the edge, doing one inc at the tip of
the ear
FO with a long tail for sewing
Optional: Cut out triangle in white felt, glue into
center of the ear

ARMS (X2)
starting in white
1. 5 sc in MR (5)
2. 5 inc (10)
cc to reddish tan
3-7. sc around (10) - 5 rounds
Stuff lightly and FO, no need to close hole

These will be attached to the body as we crochet


it, so it is important to make them first!
BODY
starting in reddish cream
1. 8 sc in MR (8)
2. 8 inc (16)
3. (sc, inc) x 8 (24)
4. (2sc, inc) x 8 (32)
5- 8. sc around (32) - 4 rounds
cc to white wherever there is white text
10. 5 sc, 5 sc into first arm (see image 1 & 2), leave the rest of
the arm unworked and skip 5 stitches on the body, 2 sc into
body (see image 3), 5 sc into second arm, leave the rest of
the arm unworked and skip 5 stitches on the body, 15 sc (32)

Stuff (make sure that the bottom stays flat), and


FO with a long tail for sewing
Now, use the tails you left on the arms to close the
holesleft between the body and back of the arms
BASE OF LEGS (X2)
starting in reddish cream
1. 8 sc in MR (8)

3. sc around (16)
4. (2 sc, dec) x4 (12)
Stuff if needed and FO with a long tail for sewing
Repeat steps to make a second leg

FOOT (X2)
starting in white
1. 4 sc in MR (4)
2-3. sc around (4) - 2 rounds
4. fold in half, 2 sc through both sides (2)
no need to stuff, FO with a long tail for sewing
Repeat steps to make a second one

LEGS ASSEMBLY (X2)


Sew leg peices together as shown in
image (repeat to make 2 legs) - we will
attach these to the body in assembly
ASSEMBLY
Sew the snout onto the head, on the front
of the face, between the safety eyes and
rounds 9 and 11. Embroider nose onto the
snout using black acrylic yarn, as shown in
the image
Sew the ears between rounds 2 and 7,
aligning the inside edges with the eyes
Embroider eyebrows above the eyes
between rounds 5 and 6, as shown in
images
Sew the head onto the body
to do this, align the front of the head
with the front of the body, and sew
around 10 stitches together that way
For the rest of the head (back and
sides), sew it onto rounds 12-13 of the
body so it lies flat
Use a knitting needle or ami stick to align
the legs onto opposite sides of the body
between rounds 5 and 9, make sure your
plushie sits flat before sewing them on
Sew the tail between round 6 and 7,
centered between both the ears and the
back feet
