To make the painted flowers: Use white yarn and fuchsia or red
acrylic paint or Marker. I used Hobbycraft fuchsia but any brand will
be fine.
Additional Materials: 38
If you are using a plant pot then I suggest to use either styrofoam, or dry
37florist
sponge. (you can easily purchase both of these items from ebay) along with the
wires, floral tape etc…
Cut the sponge/styrofoam to the size that fits your pot, place it inside and push the
stem of your flowers in to it. Start from the centre and place the other flowers in a
circle around it.

Assembling the Corolla

Place both parts together with the good side on the outside (p1).
Crochet both parts together through the BACK LOOPS ONLY (p2/3).
Leave 3 – 4 stitches unworked and fill with stuffing or scrap yarn
(p4/5).
Crochet the rest of the stitches, f/0.
Put some glue on one end of the wire and push it through the base of
the corolla (p6/7/8).

Painting
This is just an added variety for you to try if you want.
You will need to crochet the petals with white yarn.
Mix fuchsia or red paint with a bit of water so it is more liquid and
easier to seep it in to the gaps of the rows of yarn.
Simply cover most of the petal leaving only the top half of the edge
white as shown in the images below. Leave to dry.
As an alternative you could also use marker pens.

Assembly
I used a thick stem for this tutorial but I suggest to use the thinner
stub wire as shown in (p2). Start with the 8 A petals (p3) and prepare
the stem wires as follows: Bend the end as shown in (p4).
Squeeze the end (p5).
This will allow you to insert the petals in to the corolla. Push the wire
of the 1st petal through any of the loops of the corolla (p6 /7).
Pull all the way down (p8). Continue to the next page.

Pom Pom Daisy

Assembly continued
Feed the wire from the petal down to the base of the corolla to the
stem wire (p1), and wind it around the stem to hold the petal in
position (p2/3).
Leave 1 loop free and insert the next petal (p4). Continue to skip 1 loop
in between each of the 8 petals.
Squeeze the base of the petals to create a nicer shape (p5/6).

Slightly bend the tips of each petal back (p2/3).
Squeeze these petals at the base also (p4).

Adding the Calyx and Leaves

Wrap the stem in florist tape (p1). Push the stem through the calyx
and pull it up under the flower to cover the wires (p2/3).
Attach the leaves with the florist tape (p4). To create a spray of flowers,
Place them as in (p5), wrap all the flowers together with the florist tape
and cut the stems evenly.
