UNIT - I

1) Draw a parabola when the distance of the focus from the directrix is 60mm. Also draw
a tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

2) Draw the hyberbola when the distance of the focus from the directrix is 60mm and the
eccentricity is 2/3.

3) Draw an ellipse with a distance of the focus from the directrix is 50mm and the
eccentricity is 3/2. Also draw a tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

4) A coin of 40mm diameter rolls over a horizontal table without slipping. A point on the
circumference of the coin is in contact with the table surface in the beginning and after
one complete revolution. Draw the path traced by the point.

5) A circle of diameter 50mm rolls along the inside of another circle of diameter 200mm
without slipping. Draw the path traced by a point on the smaller circle. Draw a tangent
and normal at a point on the curve.

6) A fixed point is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point ‘P’ moving
such a way that its distance from the fixed point is twice its distance from the fixed
straight line. Name the curve. Draw the tangent and normal at any point on the curve.

UNIT – II

1) A straight line AB of 50mm length has its end point A 15mm above the HP and the end
B20mm infront of the VP. The top view of the line is 40mm long and the elevation is 35mm
long. Draw the projections of the line and find the true inclinations of the line with VP and
the HP.

2) One end P of a line PQ 70 mm long is 35 mm in front of VP and 25 mmm above HP the


line is inclined at 40° to the HP and 30° to the VP. Draw the projections of PQ.

3) A straight line 85 mm long has one end 15 mm in front of VP and 10 mm above HP.
While the other end is 50 mm infront of VP and 45 mm above HP. Draw the plan and
elevation of theline. Determine the inclinations of the line to HP and VP.
4) A hexagonal lamina of sides 25 mm rests on one of its sides on HP. The lamina makes
45 deg. to HP and side on which it rests makes 30 deg. to VP. Draw its projections.

5) A pentagonal lamina of edges 25 mm is resting on HP with one of its sides such that
the surface makes an angle of 60 deg. with HP. The edge on which it rests is inclined at 45
deg. to VP. Draw its projections.

6) A rectangular lamina of sides 20 mm X 30 mm rests on HP on one of its longer edges.


The lamina is tilted about the edge on which it rests till its plane surface is inclined to HP
at 45 deg. The edge on which it rests is inclined at 30 deg. to VP. Draw its projections of
the lamina.

UNIT – III

1) A hexagonal prism of base side 25 mm and axis length 55 mm rests on the HP on one
of its base corners such that a solid diagonal passing through that corner is perpendicular
to the HP. Draw its projections.

2) A cylinder of diameter 30 mm and axis length 50 mm is resting on the HP on a point so


that its axis is inclined at 45 to the HP and parallel to the VP. Draw its top and front views.

3) A cone of base diameter 40 mm and altitude 80 mm rests on the HP with its axis
inclined at 30 to the HP and parallel to the VP. Draw its front and top views.

4) A hexagonal pyramid of base edge 40 mm and altitude 80 mm rests on one of its base
edges on the HP with its axis inclined at 30 to the HP and parallel to the V.P. Draw its top
and front views.

5) Draw the projections of a pentagonal pyramid of base 25 mm side and axis 60 mm long
when it is lying on the HP on one of its base edges, such that the axis is parallel to the VP
and inclined at 30 to HP.

6) Draw the projection of a pentagonal prism of 30mm base edge and axis 60mm long
when the axis is inclined at 45° to HP and parallel to VP with an edge of the base on HP.

UNIT – IV

1) A pentagonal pyramid of base 30 mm side and height 70 mm, stands with its base on
HP such that one of the base edge is parallel to the VP. It is cut by a section plane
perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 30° to the HP bisecting the axis, Draw the
development of the surface of the cut solid.

2) A hexagonal prism of base side 20 m and height 45 mm is resting on one of its ends on
the HP with two of its lateral surfaces parallel to the VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular
to VP and inclined at 30o to the HP. The plane meets the axis at a distance of 20 mm above
the base. Draw the development of the lateral surfaces of the lower portion of the prism.

3) A cylinder of diameter 40 mm and height 50 mm is resting vertically on one of its ends


on the HP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 30o to the HP. The
plane meets the axis at a point 30 mm from the base. Draw the development of the lateral
surface of the lower portion of the truncated cylinder.

4) A hexagonal prism of base side 35mm and axis length 55 mm is resting on HP on one
of its base with two of its vertical faces perpendicular to VP. It is cut by aplane
inclined at 50 ° to HP and perpendicular to VP and passing through a point at a distance
15mm from the top base. Draw its front view ,sectional top viewand true shape of the
section.

5) A cube of side 30 mm rests on HP on its end with the vertical faces equally inclined to
VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 30° to HP meeting the axis at
25 mm above the base. Draw the front view, sectional top view and true shape of the
section.

6) A cylinder, 40 mm diameter and 60 mm long is resting on its base on HP. It is cut by a


section plane perpendicular to VP, inclined at 450 to HP and passing through the midpoint
of the axis. Draw the front view, sectional top view and true shape of the section.

UNIT – V

1) Draw the development of isometric view of a hexagonal prism of base side 15 mm and
height 35 mm when it rests on one of its ends on the HP with two of its base sides parallel
to the VP.

2) A square of pyramid 30 mm axis length 50 mm is certainly placed on the top of a cube


of side 50 mm, Draw the isometric projection of solids.
3) Draw the development of isometric view of a pentagonal pyramid of base side 20 mm
and height 55 mm when it rests on one of its ends on the HP.

4) A square pyramid having base of side 40 mm side and height 60 mm rests on the GP
with an edge of the base parallel to and 15 mm behind the picture plane. The station point
is 90 mm above the GP and 75 mm in front of the picture plane and lies in a central plane
which is 40 mm towards the right of the axis of the pyramid. Draw its perspective view.

5) A cube of side 40 mm is resting on the ground on one of its faces, with a vertical face in
PPand the rest behind it. The central plane is located 50 mm to the left of the axis of the
cube. Thestation point is 40 mm infront of PP and 60 mm above GP. Draw the perspective
view of the solid.

6) A regular hexagonal pyramid of base edge 20 mm and height 35 mm rests on its base
on the ground plane with one of its base edges touching the picture plane. The station
point is 30mm above the ground plane and 40 mm infront of the PP. The central plane is
3o mm to the right of the axis. Draw the perspective projection of the pyramid.
