SECTION 2: PROJECT PLANNING
1. Project schedule
1.1 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
A work breakdown structure (WBS) visually organizes project
deliverables into different levels based on dependencies. A work breakdown
structure is a tool that helps yorganize project by hierarchy. With a WBS,
products are divided and delivered into sub-products to visualize the project
and outline key dependencies.
Figure 2 : WBS
Our team created the WBS diagram above to illustrate the level of work
we needed to complete to build the website
http://woolhandmade.lovestoblog.com/ , dedicated to selling handmade wool
products.
1.2 Gantt chart
A Gantt chart is a project management tool that allows project managers
to create a project schedule by mapping project tasks over a visual timeline
that shows the order in which they’ll be completed, when they’re due, their
duration, and other details about them, such as their percentage of
completion. Every Gantt chart has two main parts: a grid or task list on the
left side and a project timeline on the right.
Figure 5 : OBS
Our team uses OBS - Organizational Structure, our team forms the
operations side of the organization with three hierarchical levels. The first
level includes project owners, followed by a second level that includes
departments such as management, engineering, design, testing, and
marketing. Finally, and final level consists of smaller units within our
organization.
2.2 RBS
Figure 6 : RBS
RBS helps project managers to better understand the potential risks that may
occur, which allows them to plan and implement effective preventive measures.
Marketing and promotion costs are the highest, accounting for nearly 83% of
total costs. Businesses should consider optimizing this cost by choosing
appropriate and effective advertising channels.
Costs for website construction and development only account for 11% of total
costs. Businesses can consider using free or open source solutions to save
costs.
Costs for website operation account for 6% of total costs. Businesses should
choose a reputable service provider to ensure service quality and optimize
costs.
The cost of building a website is at an average level compared to the market.
Businesses should make detailed plans for website construction and operation
before deployment. Businesses should use free or open source tools and
services to save costs. Businesses should regularly monitor and evaluate
website performance to make appropriate adjustments.
4. Risk management
4.1 Risk breakdown structure (RBS)
Figure 14 : RBS
The Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) plays a vital role for project managers
by helping them identify potential risks and develop suitable strategies to
reduce or eliminate them. It also assists in creating contingency plans to
effectively handle risks if they occur. Through the use of RBS, project
managers obtain valuable information about the different risks involved in the
project, allowing them to proactively plan and implement measures to
minimize their effects and guarantee the success of the project.
4.2 Measurement of risk
Risk Measurement is a broad term denoting any activity aiming to quantify
(produce numerical measures) risks to an organization. The risks in scope for
measurement are normally thought to have been isolated in the Risk
Identification process that logically precedes Risk Measurement.
Figure 15 : Measurement of risk
From the table above, our team can assess the frequency and outcomes
associated with each classification, establishing a foundation for identifying
and quantifying the level of risk involved. Based on that and calculate the risk
level.
4.3 Risk measurement by level of risk
