Foundational Principles

Start Of Day Routine:

Keep this simple

1. Use the 3-Second Rule. “3…2…1…GO!!”

DO NOT HIT SNOOZE.

Starting something is the hardest part. Going from


inaction (sleeping) to action (waking up).

Remember this: Action creates MORE action. Inaction


creates MORE inaction. (Scrolling on phone? = More
scrolling on phone)

2. 1 Cup Water

Wake up > Stand up (MUST do) > 1 cup of water


within 60 seconds of turning off alarm (poured the
night before)
Your body and brain (which is made of ~85% water) is
dehydrated from the long sleep; this will instantly
energize you and help you focus.

3. Physical Priming: Boost your physical energy

Circadian Rhythm Optimization - 5-10 min of sunlight


exposure

1. Natural light anchors your natural wake-up time


(aka, naturally more energized)

Do something uncomfortable or something that wakes


you up

1. Cold Shower (Shocks your body)


2. 30 sec of sprinting on the spot / burpees /
jumping jacks

4. Mental Priming: Set your mental GPS (NO more


than 5 minutes)

Write out the EXACT person you want to become 1


year from now

What I do: Bible Study (15-20 minutes). [I know this


“contradicts” what I say about less than 5 min, but for
me, I want to prioritize my spiritual health before
anything else!]

5. Eat your frog - Immediately begin the


HARDEST/Most important thing in your day first.

For the first 1-2 hours of the day you wake up, DO
NOT check your phone for non-work activities.
As soon as possible, get straight to your Absolute
Focus activities.

1. Choose 3 of your Most Important Tasks (MITs)


and focus ONLY on the first one.

BONUS: A Good Morning Routine Starts the


night before

Enable your natural circadian rhythm (a 24-hour

Take 5 minutes to plan your day and decide your 3


Most Important Tasks at this time.

1. (Reduce the decision-making in the morning)

Remember:

Never skip a habit twice

One day is fine; life happens. Two days in a row, it


begins to form a habit.

Progress > perfection

Even if you fall behind, keep going! Imperfect action is


always better than perfect action.

Make a routine that’s simple, enjoyable, and


sustainable!

routine that’s helped me consistently win my days and

Morning:

5:30AM - Water/Stretch/Brush teeth (5 Min)

5:35AM - Read bible/On Purpose Journalling (25 Min)

6:00AM - Absolute Focus (90 Min)

7:30AM - Workout [including commute] (90 min)

9:00AM - Shower (15 Min)

9:15AM - Breakfast + Check newsletters (Done by


10am)

Evening:

7:00PM - Hard Cut Off Time [NO work] (3 Hours)

9:00PM - Shower (30 Min)

9:30PM - Plan for Tomorrow (10 Min)

9:45-10PM - In bed
