WHAT IS CLIMATE CLASS?

A climate class is a rating assigned by the manufacturer to let you know what
temperature range your fridge freezer will work optimally in. Climate classes are
an international standard, ranging from +10°C to +43°C

WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO CHOOSE A FRIDGE/AC EQUIPMENT

WITH APPROPRIATE CLIMATE CLASS?

Selecting a fridge or AC equipment with the appropriate climate class is essential

for optimal performance, energy efficiency, safety, and compliance with
regulations. It ensures the appliance functions as intended, lasts longer, and
operates efficiently in its specific environmental conditions, ultimately saving you
money and reducing your environmental footprint.

A) What is Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER)?

The Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of an HVAC cooling device is the ratio of
output cooling energy (in BTU) to input electrical energy (in watts) at a given
operating point.

b) What is Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER)?

The efficiency of air conditioners is often rated by the SEER (Seasonal Energy
Efficiency Ratio). The SEER rating is calculated by dividing the total number of
BTUs (British Thermal Units) of heat removed from the air by the total amount of
energy required by the air conditioner in watt-hours

c) What is Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF)?

HSPF is a metric used in the evaluation of air source heat pumps when in heating
mode. It stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor and it measures how well
your heat pump will perform during the heating seasons

d) What is Kilo-Watt per Ton kW/ton?

Kilo-Watt per Ton (kW/ton) is a unit of measurement used to express the energy
efficiency of cooling systems, specifically in the context of air conditioning and
refrigeration. It represents the amount of cooling capacity (in kilowatts) that a
system can provide per ton of refrigeration.

One ton of refrigeration is defined as the amount of cooling required to freeze one
short ton (2,000 pounds) of water at 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) into
ice in 24 hours. It is equivalent to 12,000 British Thermal Units (BTUs) per hour or
approximately 3.51685 kilowatts.

E) What is Energy Star?

ENERGY STAR certified refrigerators offer high performance features such as

high-efficiency compressors that create less heat and use less energy, improved
insulation that helps food stay cold, and temperature and defrost mechanisms that
help the refrigerator operate more efficiently.
