1. Project Description:
Food on your plate is a god-gifted blessing and one of the best feelings in this world. Every meal is
a chance to feel connected to the earth. Everyone has the right to consume good food. Over one
billion people in the world even live today in the unacceptable conditions of poverty and
starvation. One in three children in low- and middle-income families suffers from chronic under
nutrition. Without a sustainable source of income at a sufficient level, young children and their
families do not have access to basic food. Therefore, to support hunger and starvation across our
country, GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION has initiated the idea to distribute food to needy
people. Every year GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION organizes the food distribution
programme for the needy people staying near the premises of dharmashala. Regularly food is
distributed to the inmates of Dharamshala. Food grain kits are distributed to inmates. we would
like to pray to help us with their generous support by getting involved in these sacred tasks of
food distribution.

2. About Organization:
GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION is a registered welfare NGO, began in the year 2001, by
our founder late Shri Ramesh Pradhan. He began this foundation by spending the contribution
amount of Rs. 17,500/- from his own pocket, thus leading a vision for the quality treatment of
poor and needy Jagannath devotees. During this past 22 years, GURUPRASHAD WELFARE
FOUNDATION has successfully helped countless under privileged Jagannath devotees. Our zealous
endeavor is passionately serving the Jagannath devotees by supporting them financially with all
improved aspects of Jagannath darshan. He contributed his vast experience, excellent knowledge
and efficiency for the growth and development of GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION. His
talent and efficient skills are well visible through the enhancing progress of GURUPRASHAD
WELFARE FOUNDATION and its tremendous achievements. His wife is the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION. It is her devotional goals dedicated commitment
and hard efforts that have led GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION to reach the progressive
growth and success.
3. Mission:
Our dedicated mission is reaching out to poor Jagaannath devotees as many we can, by helping
them in their well-being and preserving their smiles forever. GURUPRASHAD WELFARE
FOUNDATION never restricted its services by only providing medical & financial help to poor
Jagaannathdevotees, but also working hard in all possible corners by performing various activities
for the society, which includes devotees, doctors, general public and most importantly "The Youth
of India" by educating them about the ill effects of consuming tobacco and also spreading detailed
information and awareness about early detection of Jagaannathby organizing lectures by eminent
doctors, screening various types of films based on Jagaannathin Hindi & English languages in
schools, colleges, societies and corporate to create maximum public awareness. Other than these,
a major initiative is taken by GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION to wipe out eradication and
hunger in possible ways such as through free distribution of food Kits.

4. Vision:
The Vision of GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION is to create a world where
Jagaannathsurvivors live a life which is full of vitality, Jagaannathfree and without fear. They call
and encourage them to participate in their events so that they can recover and regain
themselves after the treatment. In this way they are trying that there should not be any stone
unturned to make the life better of Jagaannathdevotees and in their United Fight against Cancer.

 Funding and various services provided , including Surgery, Radiotherapy and


Chemotherapy.
 Jagaannath Awareness and education through GURUPRASHAD WELFARE
FOUNDATION news bulletin, devotees’ information leaflets and e-newsletters.
 Free ambulance Service provided to Jagaannath devotees all over Mumbai
 Counselling for Jagaannath devotees and their families
 Recreational activities for Jagaannath devotees
 Providing free , Prosthesis and Instruments to needy devotees
 Providing career guidance and Rehabilitation for Jagaannath devotees and their relatives.
 Organizing of Free Health Check- up camps through their project Mission Sahay.
 Eradicating Hunger, Poverty and Malnutrition, promoting health care including
preventive health care and sanitization.

5. Background of the Organization:


During this past 2 decades, GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION has successfully helped many
needy Jagannath devotees in their treatment and getting back to normal life. GURUPRASHAD
WELFARE FOUNDATION has been able to continue its journey ahead to such a great heights with
the generous support and co-operation from many donors, supporters, well- wishers and other
corporates. Food distribution programme is one of our sacred humanitarian projects which we
have been executing with our decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. Through
this project our mission is to enable and ensure to feed the malnourished population and free
them from hunger. Also, we have been freely distributing food grain kits to serve the poor
communities during such food distribution programmes, so that they can get support in their
livelihood.

6. Problem/ Need:
Through the food distribution activities, our major goal is eradicating hunger across our country.
To reach our goals in serving to poor communities, we need the support from each one in the
society in their best possible ways as it is very essential and such noble tasks can be executed well
together. These past 2 years of Covid-19 pandemic period had impacted our financial
growth and enhancement. Despite of the difficult times, we are glad that still we received
tremendous support from many donors, well-wishers and renowned corporates sectors, which
made it possible for us to fulfill our mission for the well-being of the needy people.
7. Work Plan:
Food distribution is one of our successful humanitarian projects which are the outcome of
tremendous generous support from our donors and supporters. Through this project we aim to
save the lives of malnourished communities across our country even though we have begun it in
the Mumbai region.

8. Geographical Reach:

GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION has been hosting various food distribution programmes
across the Mumbai region at different locations, with a sole aim to empower vulnerable
communities to improve their access to food and hunger eradication. We understand that hunger
and under nutrition are often linked to extreme poverty and lack of access to available, sufficient,
nutritious food. Our sole initiatives behind organising such humanitarian projects are to support
the underprivileged population to live a healthy life.

9. Outcomes and Impact:


GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION utilizes its CSR funds in the areas of healthcare, hunger
eradication, treatment and welfare of the needy Jagaannath devotees. The generous support
from many renowned corporates has created a vast significant impact in the long journey of
GURUPRASHAD WELFARE FOUNDATION and its activities

We hereby put ahead our appeal to each of the corporate concern to join as our CSR in our
journey by sponsoring and supporting us in our mission to eradicate hunger through food
distribution activities to the deserved needy population of our country for their healthy well-
being.

10. Project Budget: INR. 2,50,000.00 (Rupees Two Lakh & Fifty Thousand)

a. More than 350 people stay at dharamshala who are served with food.
b. More than 150 inmates are given food grain kit regularly.
c. More than 300 people staying near Tata, Wadia and KEM hospital are served
with cooked meal regularly.
d. Active participation to eradicate hunger and poverty.
e. Providing Maximum help to people in need
