Emma Exclamation Point

The story is about the life of Emma and her family.

The Gingerbread Pirates


By: Kristin Kladstrup Call Number: E KLA Grade: K-4 A gingerbread pirate, Captain Cookie, comes alive to rescue his crew from a hungry Santa Claus.

Suggestion: This would be a good story to use to introduce exclamation points. Exclamation points are used liberally through out the story in different situations and tones.

Suggestion: This is a fun story for the holidays from a different perspective. The story would compliment the reading of the Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends.

The Day-Glo Brothers


By: Chris Barton Call Number: 535 Bar Grade: K-4 This is a story that describes how two brothers, Bob and Joe Switzer invented uorescent paint and colors.
Suggestion: This would be good to use as an introduction to inventions and science exploration. The brothers did not start out wanting to be inventors but developed into them.

Allows the students to explore the countries resources in a interesting and informative manner. Uses: This is a fun Web 2.0 tool that allows you to make a picture talk. This would be fun when doing research on an animal, a math concept, or a person in history. Features: - FREE - Accounts can be established - You can choose what in the picture you want to move - Can be saved - Embedded onto website

Uses: This website has a vast amount of nature videos covering a variety of topics. The videos can be used as introductions to a variety of topics or center activities. Features: -Arranged by subject/topic -Short videos -Can be embedded into a website -Gives written information

Punctuation Importance http://www.freetech4teachers.com/ 2011/11/visualization-ofpunctuations.html This would be an excellent video in which to introduce the importance of punctuation. It can also be used as a possible project to have students look at the purpose of punctuation.

One that counts up an another that counts down. Can be used just by the teacher or to the entire class when doing a timed assignment. This is a website that you can draw pictures using different Crayola products. You can change product, color, and size.
