What is ‘Policy’ ?
➢ A definite course or method of action selected ( by
government, Institution, group or individual) from
among alternatives and in the light of given
conditions to guide and usually, to determine
present and future decisions.
➢ A specific decision or set of decisions designed to
carry out such course of action.
Policymakers – Those who make policies in the
organizations such as central of local
government, multinational companies or local
business, schools or hospitals.
Policy Making- The formulation of ideas or
plans that are used by an organization or
government as a basis for making decisions.
Formulation – The second stage of the policy process
in which policymakers propose courses of action for
addressing agenda issues.
Procedures- A set of established instructions, steps, or
methods for the implementation, enforcement or
administration of a university policy.
Implementation- The process of moving an idea from
concept to reality.

specific/definite. If it is uncertain,
then the implementation will
become difficult.
When your school plans
MEASURABLE
are measurable, it is
more likely to be
achieved. Setting goals
that are measurable
gives you greater
direction and focus.
ATTAINBLE
The achievability of the
goal should be stretched to
make you feel challenged,
but defined well enough
that you can actually
achieve it.
RELEVANT
Policies must
relevant to the
present situation
that can benefit the
whole school
community.
TIME BOUND Deadlines create an all-
important sense of urgency and
necessary focus, while helping
to set priorities and prompting
action. Without deadlines, there
may be reduced motivation and
resolve required to execute
tasks
