Konkokyo Center
Partner Center

PROJECT TITLE: Kitchen Konkokyo Eats

PARTNER CENTER: The SRD Konkokyo Center, located at 2133 Rodriguez St., Balut, Tondo, Manila, serves approximately 4,000 low-income families. Formerly
a dumpsite, the area has transformed into a residential zone, providing a fresh start for many. The center offers community programs like childcare, nutrition, health, educational
assistance, livelihood training, and community-building activities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project teaches budget-friendly, nutritious meal preparation for families amidst rising food costs. Collaborating with SRD Konkokyo
Learning Center, KKE offers workshops to empower families with better eating habits and promote community well-being.

OBJECTIVES: The Kitchen Konkokyo Eats (KKE) project aims to showcase nutritious meals and teach families in the SRD Konkokyo Center community how to
prepare them for their children. By conducting a 2-day workshop on preparing nutritious meals for children, KKE will present balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits to 7-8
partner couples. These meals will not only benefit their children but also offer a potential business opportunity if participants decide to turn it into an income source. Practical,
budget-friendly cooking techniques will be taught through hands-on sessions, ensuring each family participates in at least three. The project will promote the use of locally
sourced, seasonal ingredients to reduce food costs. We will also provide an ingredients list, step-by-step meal guides, and cost calculations, including potential selling prices.
Through these initiatives, KKE seeks to empower families with better eating habits, enhance community well-being, and provide sustainable solutions to rising food costs.
