WSCAD SUITE 2015 64-bit and Office

The 64-bit version of WSCAD SUITE 2015 is only installed on systems with 64-bit versions of
Microsoft Office and the operating system (Windows 7/WIN8/8.1/10). For all other systems,
the 32-bit version of WSCAD SUITE 2015 is installed. Microsoft Office allows only one
variant of the database driver (32 or 64 bit), which depends on the Office version (32/64 bit)
being used.
If you are currently using a previous version of WSCAD SUITE 2015 (2012 or 2014), the
32-bit driver will have already been installed. When you now try to install the 64-bit version of
the database driver, you will receive a Microsoft Access error message stating that you
cannot install the 64-bit version.
The instructions on how you can install the 64-bit version of WSCAD SUITE 2015 (possibly
because of insufficient working memory for large projects) on a system with a 32-bit Office
version are provided below:

Correction Instructions

1. Insert the WSCAD SUITE 2015 DVD into your DVD drive.
2. In the Windows Start menu, navigate to All Programs | Accessories and click with
the right mouse button on Command Prompt.
3. From the context menu, select Run as administrator.
4. At the command prompt, navigate to your DVD drive (such as drive letter D:) and then
enter the commands shown in bold below:
C:\Windows\System32>D:
D:\>cd Redist
D:\Redist>cd Access2010
D:\Redist\Access2010>AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe /passive
5. The command installs the Access database engine.
6. At the command prompt, type the following command:
D:\Redist\Access2010>Office_2010_ACE1.reg
7. At the command prompt, type the following command:
D:\Redist\Access2010>Office_2010_ACE2.reg
8. Create a shortcut for the WSCAD SUITE 2015 64-bit version. On your Desktop, right-
click on the WSCAD SUITE 2015 icon.
9. Click in the "Properties of WSCAD SUITE" on the Shortcut tab.
10. In the Target field, replace the string XXXXXX with your serial number and make sure
that " -64" (with the leading space) is appended to it.
