TASK SHEET

TITLE:​
Performing Functional Testing and Configuration on the CCTV System

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:
Perform the functional testing and configuration of the installed CCTV based on Philippine
Electrical Code guidelines.
SUPPLIES/ MATERIALS:
Installed CCTV system
STEPS/ PROCEDURE:
1. Wear your PPEs
2. Power up the CCTV System. Press the power buttons of the DVR, Power Distribution
Box, and Monitor. Check if the power indicator lights are ON. On the monitor, a live view
screen is displayed by default.
3. Configuring the system information. As soon as the system initializes, the configuration
of the password for the administrator is prompted on the monitor screen. For added
security, modern CCTV systems also require unlocking patterns and information on
password protection mode. Use the Setting Up with the Startup Wizard for a full
configuration guide. For advanced users, they choose to have their custom installation.
Configure the General Settings by using the Startup Wizard. Configure the Date and
Time Settings. For hybrid DVR installation, configure the network settings using the
TCP/IP network information. After the configuration of the CCTV System, check the
functionality of the video recording and, storage and backup functions.
4. Check whether the camera produces a clear picture according to the specified
resolution, sustains a clear display, and automatically adjusts in varying light conditions
at night or during the day.
5. Verify that the cameras have a wide dynamic range and provide complete and correct
coverage of the area specified.
6. Check whether the PTZ camera can be controlled fully at the given technical presets.
7. Provide simulations to verify other functionalities of the camera if it can trigger an event
alarm or its sensor sensitivity activates an alarm at a given setting.
8. Power up the DVR and Power Distribution Box and check whether the power indicators
are ON and that the devices are energized.
9. Power up the monitor and verify if the firmware of the DVR initializes and prompts an
Administrator Password management.
10. Once the administrator password is verified and that other required information is
provided, the CCTV system interface displays now the real-time footage from the
installed cameras.
11. Using the video data analysis function, verify if the movement detection on-screen is
performed in real-time.
12. Check if on-screen visual alarms or notifications are displayed when a trigger is sent by
the camera sensors.
13. Verify through the firmware of the CCTV system if the data storage capacity is according
to its specifications.
14. Verify and test the functionality of the audio/video recording and playback functions.
15. Perform the 5S of Good Housekeeping. Clean up the whole area from debris and other
waste materials.
