AN EXECUTIVE ORDER ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION

COMMITTEE FOR BARANGAY PAMUCUTAN, ZAMBOANGA CITY,
COVERING JANUARY TO OCTOBER 2023

WHEREAS, the health and nutrition of the community, especially children, is a

priority concern that requires coordinated efforts at all levels of government;

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 491, known as the "Nutrition Act of the
Philippines," mandates the establishment of local nutrition committees to ensure the
proper implementation of nutrition programs and projects;

WHEREAS, it is necessary to organize the Barangay Nutrition Committee in Barangay

Pamucutan, Zamboanga City, to effectively address the nutritional needs and concerns
of the community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ROBERTO V. CARPIO, Barangay Captain of Pamucutan,

Zamboanga City, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the
following:

SECTION 1. ORGANIZATION OF THE BARANGAY NUTRITION

COMMITTEE
The Barangay Nutrition Committee for Barangay Pamucutan, Zamboanga City, is
hereby organized and shall be composed of the following members:

1. ROBERTO V. CARPIO - Chairperson

2. ROSALYN A. ABDUL - Vice Chairperson
3. JEANETTE D. ATILANO - Member
4. MARY JANE W. AGARIN - Member
5. Representative from the Department of Education (DepEd) CORAZON FABELLA -
Member
6. Representative from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
CHADAYA BARCELONA - Member
7. Barangay Secretary - ARMSN Q. BENTAIN Member
9. Barangay Treasurer SOLITO P. ROJAS - Member

SECTION 2. **FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Barangay Nutrition Committee shall have the following functions and
responsibilities:

1. Formulate and implement a Barangay Nutrition Action Plan in line with the National
and Local Nutrition Programs.
2. Conduct regular growth monitoring and promotion activities for children.
3. Coordinate with various government agencies, NGOs, and CSOs to ensure the
effective implementation of nutrition programs and projects.
4. Conduct nutrition education and information campaigns within the community.
5. Promote the consumption of nutritious food and proper dietary practices.
6. Monitor and evaluate the nutrition status of the community and the impact of
nutrition interventions.
7. Facilitate capacity-building activities for committee members and community
stakeholders on nutrition-related topics.
8. Advocate for policies and programs that support improved nutrition and health
outcomes.

SECTION 3. FUNDING AND RESOURCES
The necessary funds for the operations and activities of the Barangay Nutrition
Committee shall be sourced from the Barangay Budget, donations, and other funding
sources as may be available and appropriate.

SECTION 4. EFFECTIVITY
This Executive Order shall take effect immediately and shall cover the period from
January to October 2023.
