Recently, a new shopping mall opened in our neighborhood, bringing several big-
brand stores and eateries. Previously, our area had quaint, locally-owned bookstores
and artisanal shops that gave the community a unique charm. As a result, the
neighborhood had a distinct, friendly atmosphere.

Due to the new mall's opening, there are now more shopping and dining options
available. Also, thanks to the fact that these new businesses have aggressive
marketing and frequent promotions, they attract more customers looking for deals
and modern amenities.

Consequently, the local bookstores and artisanal shops have seen their sales
decrease significantly. As a result, the neighborhood is losing its unique character
and the sense of community that local businesses once provided. Some stores
have even closed. Longtime residents deeply feel this change.
