MICE INDUSTRY
Is one of the major segments of the tourism industry. It helps
generate millions of revenue for the countries and it is one
of the fastest growing industries within the tourism industry

MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.


It is business tourism at its finest, aimed at bringing together top
professionals from every sector in an enhanced, tailor-made
hospitality setting.
MEETING
Are typically held in hotel
conference rooms or at
convention centers. They
are single-day events
that bring together a
group of professionals to
address a key challenge
or set goals for the
organization.
TYPES OF MEETING
1. Congress – the coming together of
large groups of individuals, generally to
discuss a particular subject. Last
several days and have several
simultaneous sessions.

2. Symposium – limited interactions


between the presenters and the
audience.

3. Lecture – is an individual
presentation, often by one expert where
the audience can ask questions after
the discussion.

4. Panel – two or more resource persons
offer their opinions on a specific topic.

5. Workshops - require hands-on


activities to facilitate learning

6. Forum – an interactive discussion led


by invited speakers.

7. Seminars – provide room for
interaction between attendees and
resource speakers. (small group)

8. Clinic – refers to training activities,


usually sports activities. (drills and
instruction)

9. Retreats – are generally spiritual in


nature usually conducted in a location
away from the city.
INCENTIVES
Are travel rewards a
company may provide in
return for excellent
professional performance
from individual
employees, groups or
partners.
CONFERENCES
Take meetings to the next
level and are designed for
a large corporate group
to share knowledge
across several days. They
often include not only key
members of the
organization but also
guest speakers and the
general public.
EXHIBITIONS
are events designed to
bring together suppliers
of products and services
who will demonstrate
their products and
services to the attendees
in order to make sales or
establish contracts.
TWO TYPES OF EXHIBITION
1. Consumer Show - a showcase of
products that are offered to the public,

end users.

2. Trade Show - for commerce at a


bigger scale. It targets similar markets.
It is intended to provide a venue

influencers and suppliers, networking
for sales leads, contacts, and building
an image to the customer.
EVENT MANAGEMENT
Event management is the
process of creating and
maintaining an event.
This process spans from
the very beginning of
planning all the way to
post-event strategizing.

It represents the various

accommodate large and
small events.
SERVICE CONTRACTORS

responsible for providing all


the services needed to run
the facilities management for
a trade show such as
transportation,
entertainment, audiovisual,
escorts and tour guides,
convention setup, and
destination management.
