1. BACKGROUND

organizing, planning, leading and controlling resources to achieve certain goals
effectively and efficiently. Management evolved from the need to improve

Management Functions: Management is usually divided into several basic


functions, namely planning, organizing, directing and controlling. These functions
help managers in coordinating organizational activities to achieve goals.

Manager's Role: Managers are responsible for ensuring that organizational


resources are used effectively and efficiently. They act as leaders, communicators,
planners and controllers in organizations.

Management Concepts and Principles: Various concepts such as efficiency,


effectiveness, delegation and coordination form the basis of management
practices. These principles help managers in taking the right decisions.

External Environmental Influence: Management is also influenced by external


factors such as technological developments, globalization, economic changes, and
social and political dynamics. Managers must be able to adapt strategies and put
them into practice according to these changes in the external environment.

With a solid understanding of management background, individuals and


organizations can be better prepared to overcome challenges and exploit

2. WHAT IS MANAGEMENT ?

Management is the process of planning, organizing, directing and controlling


organizational resources to achieve predetermined goals efficiently and
effectively. It involves the use of human, financial, material, and information
resources to achieve organizational goals. Management includes various functions
such as:

-Planning: Determining organizational goals and the best way to achieve them.

-Organizing: Arranging resources and activities to achieve planned goals.

-Direction: Leading and motivating organizational members to carry out their


duties well.

-Controlling: Monitoring and evaluating performance to ensure organizational


goals are achieved and making adjustments if necessary.

-Management is the key to ensuring that an organization can operate well and can
adapt to environmental changes.

Management system: key management systems involve various


frameworks that are used to manage and optimize various aspects of an
organization's operations. Some of the main management systems that are
frequently implemented include:

3. WHAT ARE THE FUNCTIONS OF MANAJEMENT ?
Management functions generally include a series of activities designed to
achieve organizational goals efficiently and effectively. Following are the four
main functions of management:
-Planning (Planning):Determine goals and formulate strategies to achieve
them.Analyze the environment and determine the steps that need to be
taken.Develop a detailed and organized action plan.
-Organizing (Organizing):
Organize human and material resources to implement the plan.
Dividing tasks and responsibilities to individuals or teams.
Establish organizational structure and workflow.
-Direction (Leading/Directing):
Motivate and lead the team to achieve goals.
Directs activities and communicates instructions clearly.
Provide guidance and support to team members.
-Controlling:
Monitor and evaluate performance to ensure goals are achieved.
Comparing actual results with plans that have been made.Take corrective
action as necessary to address deviations.These functions are interrelated
and support each other to ensure that the organization can operate
effectively and efficiently in achieving its stated goals.
4. THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF MANAGEMENT
Management is the process of planning, organizing, directing and controlling
resources to achieve organizational goals. There are several types of management
applied in various business and organizational contexts. The following are several
types of management that are commonly known:
-Human Resources Management (HR)
Focus on employee recruitment, training, development and well-being.
-Financial management
Relating to planning, organizing, directing and controlling financial activities such
as budgeting, investment and funding.
-Operation management
Manage the company's production and operational processes to ensure efficiency
and effectiveness in producing goods and services.
-Marketing Management
Identify customer needs and develop marketing strategies to meet those needs
through promotion, sales and distribution.
-Strategic Management
Formulate and implement long-term strategies to achieve goals and maintain
competitive advantage.
-Project management
Planning, executing, and controlling projects to achieve specific goals within
established time, cost, and quality.
-Information Technology (IT) Management
Manage information and technology systems within the organization to increase
operational efficiency and effectiveness.
-Risk management
Identify, evaluate, and control risks that may affect the organization.
-Innovation Management
Drive and manage the innovation process within the organization to create new
products, services or processes.
-Supply Chain Management
Manage the flow of goods, information and resources from suppliers to end
consumers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Each of these types of management has an important role in the success of an


organization, and are often interrelated to achieve common goals.
