1 Description
The FB-DIAG/FF/NC field diagnostics module is a DIN rail- Features
mounted instrument that provides measurements and mon-
– Reads physical layer diagnostics on the H1 segment
itoring for the physical layer of an active Foundation Field-
bus™ fieldbus segment. – Powered from the H1 segment
– Communicates over the H1 segment
The FB-DIAG/FF/NC is for installation in the field in conjunc-
tion with an FB-ET module via T-bus connection. – Can be installed in the field or control cabinet
Critical process measurements, such as segment voltage, – Critical measurements, such as segment voltage, noise
device count, signal level, communication status and noise and signal, can be monitored
levels, can be realized on each segment using an FDM – Easy control system integration with DD, EDDL and
module. The use of device descriptor (DD), electronic de- DTM
vice description language (EDDL) and device type manager – Adjustable alarm condition thresholds allow for preci-
(DTM) allow seamless integration into any control system sion monitoring and trending
without the need for protocol or media conversion. – Capable of retrieving and transmitting diagnostic data
for up to 24 field devices
– Easy integration into Phoenix Contact systems using
the TBUS DIN rail bus system
– Wide input voltage of 9 to 32 V DC
– -40 to +85°C operating range
– ATEX and IECEx listed

Make sure you always use the latest documentation.

6 Installation
6.1 Mounting

WARNING!
Never apply power directly to the ME 17,5
TBUS... connector. Supply voltage must be
from a Phoenix Contact FB-ET coupler for the
the FB-DIAG/FF/NC module.

1. Install and position the ME 17,5 TBUS connector in

the DIN rail.
2. Place the module onto the DIN rail from above and over
the appropriate TBUS connector. The upper holding
keyway must be hooked onto the top edge of the DIN
rail.
3. Push the bottom of the module towards the DIN rail,
aligning the module with the TBUS connector. Push the
module in until the bottom foot snaps onto the rail.

6.2 Removal
1. Insert a suitable tool, e.g., screwdriver, into the release
latch and pull it down.
2. Pull the module slightly away from the mounting surface
by rotating it upward.
3. Lift the module from the rail.
