Motivational or Purpose Setting Activity
Directions: Analyze the given pictures below. Group them according to your
preferred categories. Then, explain your basis for grouping.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Teaching/ Modeling
A. Directions: Choose the more sensible temperature
1. Bulalo Soup 25 ℃ 58 ℃
2. Tagaytay in the morning 18 50 ℃
3. Frozen meat 0 25
Conversions of Celsius to Fahrenheit: Illustrative example.

B. Directions: Convert the following:

1. 4 ℃
to

5. 140 ℉ to

2. 20
Solution
to
𝟗

= ( 𝒙 ℃) + 𝟑𝟐°
𝟓

= (𝟗𝟓 𝒙 𝟒) + 𝟑𝟐°
℉ = 𝟑𝟗. 𝟐° Solution
3. 68

𝟗
to
℉ = ( 𝒙 ℃) + 𝟑𝟐°
𝟓

℉ = (𝟗𝟓 𝒙 𝟐𝟎) + 𝟑𝟐°

℉ = 𝟔𝟖°

Solution
𝟓
4. ℃ = ( ) 𝒙 (℉ − 𝟑𝟐°)
to 𝟗
𝟓
℃ = ( ) 𝒙 (𝟔𝟖 − 𝟑𝟐°)
𝟗
℃ = 𝟐𝟎°
Solution Solution
𝟓
℃ = ( ) 𝒙 (℉ − 𝟑𝟐°)
𝟗
𝟓
𝟓 ℃ = ( ) 𝒙 (𝟏𝟒𝟎 − 𝟑𝟐°)
℃ = ( ) 𝒙 (𝟖𝟔 − 𝟑𝟐°) 𝟗
𝟗
℃ = 𝟔𝟎°
℃ = 𝟑𝟎°
2. Analysis

Answer the following questions:

A. 1. Was it easy to choose the more sensible temperature of each
given? Why?
2. How did you come up
with that idea?
3. What do you think is
the difference of ℃ and ? B. 1.
How will you convert ℃ 𝑡𝑜 ℉ and vice versa ?

2. Is there a formula in converting temperature? State your

answer.

5. Generalization
Temperature – refers to the degrees of hotness or coldness.
- The instrument used for measuring temperature is
thermometer.
- The normal body temperature is 37 ℃ 98.6 ℉
- Boiling point of a water is 100 ℃ and the freezing
point is 0

Two kinds of temperature scales

1. Celsius scale –– is also known as the Centigrade scale and
used in the Metric System. Temperature unit adopted and
named in honor of the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsuis.
2. Fahrenheit scale – is used in the English System , based on
the formula invented by German scientist Daniel Gabriel
Fahrenheit.
