PGEN EDWARD E. CARRANZA (RET.)

Municipal Mayor
Office of the Mayor, Silang Cavite

Dear Mayor Carranza;

Greetings in the name of public service!

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request your support in organizing a flu
vaccination program for persons deprived of liberty (PDL) and jail personnel within our
municipality.

As we are all aware, infectious diseases such as influenza pose a significant risk to the health
and well-being of our community members, including those residing in jail facilities. Given the
confined nature of these environments, the spread of contagious illnesses can occur rapidly,
potentially leading to outbreaks that strain our healthcare resources and endanger the lives of
both PDLs and staff.

To mitigate this risk and promote the health and safety of everyone involved, I believe it is
essential to implement a comprehensive flu vaccination initiative tailored specifically to PDL and
jail personnel. By providing access to flu vaccines free of charge and facilitating their
administration within our area of responsibilities, we can effectively reduce the transmission of
the virus and protect vulnerable populations from illness and complications.

Furthermore, ensuring the vaccination of jail personnel not only safeguards their health but also
reinforces the continuity of essential services within our correctional system. By prioritizing the
well-being of both inmates and staff, we demonstrate our municipality's commitment to
upholding public health standards and fostering a safe and secure environment for all.

I kindly urge you to consider allocating resources and support towards the establishment of a
flu vaccination program for PDL and jail personnel in collaboration with relevant healthcare
providers and authorities. Your leadership in this matter will undoubtedly contribute to the
overall health and resilience of our community, particularly in the face of seasonal health
challenges like influenza.

Thank you for your attention to this important request. I am available to provide any further
information or assistance you may require in moving this initiative forward for the benefit of all.

Sincerely,

GECHRIS M ABANILLA

Jail Chief Inspector

Municipal Jail Warden
