Course Description: As a student in this course, you will learn the most important Microsoft Office
Excel topics. Initially, you will learn the basics of organizing files and folders. Next, you will be ready
to delve into Microsoft Office Excel to learn how to create and format a workbook and work with
formulas, functions, charts, and graphics. Once you have adapted this, you will learn advanced
formulas and functions, and how to manage multiple worksheets. Finally, you will learn advanced
techniques, such as financial and what-if analyses, external data usage, and collaboration on shared
workbooks.

Pedagogy: Important material from the text and outside sources will be covered in class. Students
should plan to take careful notes as not all material can be found in the texts or readings. Discussion is
encouraged as is student-procured outside material relevant to the topics being covered.

Course Objectives: This course would guide the student to become proficient with one or more soft
skills: decision-making, problem-solving, teamwork, verbal communication, and written
communication. The goal is to enhance students’ understanding of soft skills and how to apply them
appropriately in real-world, professional situations involving software application skills. It would
offer at various points throughout a text, encompassing the concepts and skills presented in a
standalone Module or a group of related Modules.

Prerequisites: No prior computer experience is assumed.

Note: For the Full Credit Course there will be 4 minimum components out of which Mid Term & End Term
are compulsory and 3 minimum components for Half Credit Course out of which End Term is compulsory.
The remaining components are project work/ assignment, quizzes/viva, class participation, case discussion/
presentation.
