you understand it fully. If you do not obey the instructions it contains, personal injury or material damage
can occur, and no warranty apply.
The manufacturer delivers the GSE/Tool prepared for assembly. Before you assemble the GSE/Tool,
do a visual inspection of it and refer to the tool packing list to make sure that there are no missing or
damaged parts. If parts are missing or damaged, make sure that they are replaced or repaired before
you use the GSE/Tool
During the GSE/Tool life cycle, obey the maintenance intervals given in the maintenance instructions,
unless:
2. Safety
2.1 General
2.4 Warnings
Pay attention to the following WARNING(s) when you use the GSE.
3. Product security
● Check the Measurement Test or the manufacturer Certificate of Conformity (CoC), in
accordance with 6.5 Measurement test, availability and validity before using the tool.
● Always perform an overall inspection of the tool before using it. Reject parts that present
damages or corrosion.
● Check the latest calibration done for the tool.
● After every use, store the tool in the Tool Storage Box.

Before storage, refer to the "Packing checklist" to make sure that all items which must be part of the
GSE/Tool P/N 98D27309006000 are available.
● Whenever possible, keep the GSE/Tool in its original box for storage.
● Keep all Nuts and Screws tightened to ensure safe condition of use. Regular maintenance is
essential for safety and to keep a correct level of performance.
● For safety reasons, do not use the Tool with damaged or worn components. Worn components
must be replaced, not repaired.
● Use original parts. Parts of inferior quality could damage the tool and be a risk to safety.
● When unused, the GSE/Tool shall be stored in a clean dry and ventilated room in order to avoid
mechanical, chemical or humidity damages.
● Do not store the GSE/Tool near corrosive fluids or near heat or ozone sources.
● Check the Measurement Test or the manufacturer Certificate of Conformity (CoC), in
accordance with 6.5 Measurement test, availability and validity before using the tool.
● Always perform an overall inspection of the tool before using it. Reject parts that present
damages or corrosion.

9. Operation
See relevant AMM.
10.1 Inspection
Before each use of the GSE/Tool, make sure that:
● The GSE/Tool is in proper working condition.
● The GSE/Tool does not present any damage.
● The servicing was done.
● The Calibration(s) was (were) done (when applicable).
● The maintenance was done.
10.2 Calibration
In the first 12 months after delivery manufacturer CoC is valid.
Then, AIRBUS recommends performing measurement test every 6 months. In any case time
between measurement tests (or CoC and first measurement test) shall not be superior to one year.

1. Measure the Pin (point 13). The point 13 corresponds to the center of the Pin projected on the
upper surface of the tool (surface with the ID plate). This point is the origin of the datum system.
2. Measure the horizontal surface (Plane Y). Points must be taken homogeneously around the tool
on the measurement table. The vector of this plane will create the Y axis.

3. Measure and construct the planes A and B positioned between the points 1-2 and 10-11.
Theoretical and measured planes must be constructed. Please refer to the Table 02 below for the
theoretical values.

PLANES A_B
The measured points used to create these two real planes compare to the theoretical planes
cannot have a negative deviation in Z (please refer to the scheme below). As the tool is in contact with
the aircraft a measured point with a negative Z means that the tool is inside the aircraft.
If you have a measured point with a negative deviation, a new best-fit is needed according to
the use of the tool. The new point to take into account will be the point with the biggest deviation in Z-.

10.3 Servicing
For all subsystem supplier parts servicing, refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Before each use of the tool, do a check of the servicing or do the servicing, with the GSE/Tool not
installed and in a rest configuration.
The GSE/Tool servicing includes these steps:
● Cleaning of the parts (when applicable, with the periodicity as necessary)
● Check the function of all moving parts.
● Perform the visual check of marking on the complete tool.
If there is no specific information about periodical test(s), Airbus recommends that you do the tests
below at intervals of 12 months from the GSE/Tool entry into service.
