Manager/Executive Manager

leading-edge automation capabilities to transform how we serve clients and operate our business.
Moreover, the team is also actively exploring nascent applications of NFT, Edge Computing,
Metaverse, etc.

Work you’ll do

In the US Innovation team, you will work as a team member in identifying new opportunities for
Deloitte, executing business or digital transformation projects focused on transforming what the firm
offers, how we deliver those offerings, and how we operate. The different businesses of Deloitte
reach out to the team with their business problems, and it is the responsibility of the team member
to understand, assess and solve these problems for the business. The team member will also be
responsible for assisting with the incubation of new digital products across Deloitte’s four
businesses: Audit, Tax, Consulting, or Advisory, or may be focused on new services and businesses,
channels (e.g., clients, industry sectors, geographies) or services that cross functional business lines.

The Manager will interact with leaders in the company and will lead various special, top priority
projects with potential to significantly impact our organization.

Your primary responsibilities include:

I. Problem solving, analytical thinking and logical structuring

 Bring in new thinking, question existing ways, and push boundaries to solve business
problems
 Proactive thinking to assess what potential problems can be solved through existing,
emerging, and transformative technologies
 Bring a strategic mindset with an ability to critically analyze, logically structure and execute
on details, while remaining flexible in an evolving and ambiguous environment
 Apply established tools, frameworks and methodologies to support the business decision-
making process
 Develop subject matter expertise and execute deliverables across businesses and other
special projects for Deloitte’s leadership. Projects focus primarily on growth, innovation, risk,
and operations for Deloitte overall, specific functional businesses, including Audit,
Consulting, Advisory, and Tax, cross-functional business opportunities, new services or
businesses, or specific channels (e.g., clients, industries, geographies, talent, or technology)
 Develop plans for and ensure successful execution of projects; lead, execute, and/or
assign/oversee work threads. Analyze and interpret project data, draw conclusions, and
develop recommendations based on the result of the specific outputs
 Identify and select the most relevant set of techniques to meet project requirements such as
strategy frameworks and analysis, etc.

II. Develop executive level content

 Prepare periodic reports for Executive/Board/Senior leaders – in the areas of Strategy and
Innovation, Digital Transformation, Future of Work, Service area decks, Project update decks,
etc.
 Develop insight-driven and action-oriented content (document, presentation, spreadsheets)
for executives
 Incorporate feedback/suggestions from the peers
 Present the outcomes or progress on the project to the leaders

III. Strategy, research, and analysis

 Lead research efforts to gather information using internal and external research resources
such as industry journals, analyst reports, stakeholder interviews and information databases
 Research and establish analytical frameworks and conduct complex business analyses
 Envision the current process and re-imagine the tech enabled to-be process by creating
meaningful hypothesis
 Conduct workshops/interviews and identify opportunities for impact
 Lead efforts to synthesize the findings, derive at the next steps/opportunities, and prepare
executive ready deliverables

IV. People Management

 Lead and manage team of 3-5 professionals and foster a cohesive and effective work
environment
 Develop and maintain a diverse set of business relationships during project engagements

The team

The US Innovation group supports Deloitte’s strategic innovation goals. The group focuses on
incubating breakthrough technologies and solutions; driving and orchestrating the firm’s digital
transformation; and communicating to our people and the marketplace the vision and impact of the
firm’s innovation and digital transformation efforts. The group also works with firm leaders to help
set, shape, achieve – and then refresh - innovation goals.

The US Innovation group is unique in Deloitte. Its focus is to rapidly identify, shape, experiment and
incubate new business opportunities that leverage leading edge technologies. We operate as a
cross-between an applied R&D (emphasis on Development), venture capital investor and a start-up.
All team members are respected and called upon for their creativity, insights, and ability to make an
impact, regardless of title or tenure. And most are challenged to work on multiple projects at one
time. The work is intense, fast-moving, and highly impactful; but most importantly fun and rewarding
for those with passion for innovation.

Qualifications

 8+ years of professional experience in digital transformation, including executing and owning


workstreams for innovation/strategy projects and programs with multiple senior stakeholders
 Master's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Engineering or
related field OR MBA from a reputed institute
 Good understanding of business issues (knowledge of professional services industry will be
an added advantage)
 Knowledge or certification in artificial intelligence, automation, semantic analytics,
visualization technologies is a plus

Work Location: Mumbai

Work Timings: 11am to 8pm

Skills Required

I. Problem solving, and analytical thinking

 Prior experience on different ideation and problem-solving techniques such as design


thinking, lateral thinking, critical thinking, etc. is a plus
 Ability to think creatively and apply logical structuring to complex problems
 Ability to synthesize large sets of information, extract insights, and develop
recommendations
 Ability to think orthogonally to prevailing views and comfort with challenging orthodoxies

II. Strategy development, research, and analysis

 Prior experience in strategy development for top tier companies and/or with top strategy
consultancy companies
 Systems thinking skills (ability to connect dots across different concepts to generate new
insights)
 Excellent strategic thinking and knowledge of strategy development, competitive strategy,
and scenario planning
 Outstanding core consulting skills – i.e., analytical, primary and secondary research and
presentation skills (superior PowerPoint and Excel), including logical structuring and
storytelling
III. People management / other skills

 Self-accountable for ensuring that results are achieved; demonstrate a strong orientation
towards achievement; deliver work in a timely matter with minimal errors and guidance
 Fluency in spoken and written English, with excellent executive presence specific to
interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
 Ability to work independently, manage and drive small engagements or parts of large
engagements
 Ability to lead and manage, influence and motivate a team of 3-5 professionals and foster a
cohesive and effective work environment
 High degree of self-confidence, poise, maturity, discretion, diplomacy, and empathy
 Superior project management and time management skills.
