INTRODUCTION:

Mapanas northern samar is one of spectacular placed in Visayas, due to its incredible
sceneries, otherwise due to the desputed problems that couldn’t resolved in just one certain
rule released by the captain of every barangay and by neglecting the rule of proper waste
disposal that represents the characteristics of every people live in the barangay and also the
biggest unresolved issues that pointing out not just in a specific place but the whole
mapanasnon. The international economy has recently expanded, attracting attention to
environmental pollution and ecological damage. As a result, NSTP-CWTS students should
actively engage in environmental conservation. They must actively embrace environmental
responsibility and increase their understanding of environmental protection in order to
address the environmental challenge. Given the growing consciousness in Barangay delnorte
N. Samar, the government, shareholders, and the public have all with the goal of taking part
in a clean-up push to protect the environment. The international economy has recently
expanded, attracting attention to environmental pollution and ecological damage. As a result,
NSTP-CWTS students should actively engage in environmental conservation. In the world
we live in these days, individuals don't even consider their surroundings. People may not
realize that, in addition to other resources, a healthy environment is essential for survival. We
need to protect the environment in order to limit the spread of many diseases that are caused
by pollution of the air, water, and land. We all have a responsibility to protect the
environment. I think it is our duty as college students to take a small step to maintain a
healthy environment.

OBJECTIVES:

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: COASTAL CLEAN-UP

 To be able promote cleanliness in the coastal and seas

 To change the behaviors that cause pollution and increase public awareness of the scope

of the marine life towards in my barangay

 To encourage and educate the people about the proper waste disposal of the garbage’s and

removing trash and debris from the coastal area

NARRATIVE STATEMENT

PRELIMINARIES:

On April 20, 2024, we started taking part in our environmental education program,

which is a coastal clean-up at the barrio Delnorte Mapanas Northern Samar. As part of our

community training, we set aside time on Sundays for this component, which is valid for

two months along with the NSTP-CWTS students and the barangay officials. The cleanup

began at precisely 6:00 in the morning and ended at 8:00.

ACTIVITIES:

I was assigned in a different area than the other learners. Putting both biodegradable
and non-biodegradable waste into the two sacks is the aim. With partners, we were able to
carry the sack easily when it was full, and everyone was performing their jobs efficiently.
Thankfully, a few of them had an umbrella because it was starting to get hot. It was getting
harder the second Sunday since we observed there was trash everywhere. On the first
Sunday, we collected enough material to separate. We take it as an opportunity to do it by
ourselves, for we are the responsible NSTP-CWTS student.

PROBLEMS ENCOUTERED
Although the coastal clean-up was an accomplishment, there were certain issues

that the CWTS participant encountered into while participating. These issues consisted of:

 We found that a large number of the thrown items were hard to reuse or biodegrade,

and some of them were even harmful to the environment. This was probably brought

on by the absence of reliable rubbish disposal services nearby.

 The improper way of wasting different kinds of trash can cause disease to those who

lives near the shore.

 There’s no trash bags or trash bin in any area to put proper waste at.
RECOMMENDATION

 Conduct a seminar in the Barangay on how to properly segregate the biodegradable

and non-biodegradable waste.

 Put a sign in every area in the coast along with trash bins so they won’t throw their

waste in any areas in the coast.

 Keeping the coast clean is important, but we should also consider those who didn’t

out gloves or any of the hand covering, I recommend the proper way of hand washing

sign in any area in the coast.

PHOTO DOCUMENTATION

On April 20 2024 we started the clean up drive at the barangay delnorte, at 6:00 AM
in the morning until at 8:00AM.

OBJECTIVES

LIVELIHOOD & ENTREPRENEURSHIP: MAKING AND SELLING HARD BROOM

(WALIS TING-TING)

 To promote the use of eco-friendly cleaning tools, specifically the hard broom

 To support the local livelihood of the broom makers in the community

 To raise awareness about sustainable and environmentally- friendly practices

INTRODUCTION

We carried out an enterprise and livelihood activity in our barrio on the second

Sunday of our immersion. People in our community will undoubtedly benefit from this

type of entrepreneur as they launch their own distinctive businesses. Establishing a local

business will encourage others to create and personalize their own.

As a filipino netizen of the Philippines we are completely unique than the other

countries through our unreachable confidence and intelligences, we are useful and

resourceful due to our presence of mind, we are inter-connected to our surrounding and

nature that’s why the mapanas learners that reassigned in the barangay delnorte re-

creating a livelihood & entrepreneurship by selling broom stick made by the coconut

foliary, it’s affordable and castigations. Each has role and has to play its part; one must

commend of grace and one to show off its unique ability to create its own product. The

survivability of one establishment and the beginning of the end of one’s product
NARRATIVE STATEMENT
PRELIMINARIES:
The second Sunday of our chosen dimension, we conducted a business demonstration

of a local delicacies called broom stick made by the coconut foliary. The meeting place that

we talked about was in the place of one of our NSTP-CWTS classmates. We begin the wait

the others at exactly 1:00pm in the afternoon.

I and the other boys bought all the equipment we needed to create the products. At

first, my team go to mount to provide and to get the coconut foliary, we select a volunteer to

climb the coconut tree for the demonstration on how to create the unique broom stick and I is

the one who volunteer, though it’s not really that unique.

ACTIVITIES:

The procedures are just simple and I think this is the only delicacies that you can

make it just in 5 mins. The sequence of to make this product is; first you have to get a

coconut foliary, and after that you takeoff the foliary from the leaf base. After that, when you

finish taking off the foliary at its base is, and you can now take the important part the stick.

To finished the product is you need the ‘’NITO” to tie the broom sick.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
The deliberation was successful, it was nice doing it, we might think that it’s really

that easy, well, it is. But there are still certain errors while doing it, and those problems are:

 The product is budget friendly, but it is not problem to be determined. The

thing is no one know how many costumers you will get in a long run of day, so

there’s a doubt that you can sold those in just a day

 The weather is hot at the people wants are not your choice to make, because of

the lack of budget, that’s the only product you make because you think people

would want it, due to the modern world.

RECOMMENDATION

 In order to gather such costumers, the product must be presentable and looks are

goods.

 Improvised your product, make it more unique and not just an ordinary delicacy the

community knows.

product.

OBJECTIVE

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: TREE PLANTING

 To provide opportunities for learners to participate in a tree-planting awareness

 To reduce flash floods and prevent soil erosion

 To promote of the planting tree as a lifestyle

INTRODUCTION

In Barangay Del Norte, Mapanas, Northern Samar, planting trees is more than just a

green initiative—it's a critical first step toward building resilience and sustainability in

our community. Barangay Del Norte, which is located in an area renowned for its

abundant natural beauty and biodiversity, presents particular environmental difficulties

that can be successfully resolved by carefully placing trees.

The wellbeing of the ecology in our area depends on trees. By generating oxygen,

absorbing carbon dioxide, and serving as habitat for many different wildlife species, they

contribute to climate regulation. In our barrio, trees are also essential for controlling

water flow, preventing landslides, and reducing soil erosion—all of which are critical

considering that our region is vulnerable to typhoons and heavy rains.

Planting trees involves much more than just putting a seedling in the ground. It is a

sign of a deep dedication to the environment and the planet's future. Our ecosystems'

ability to remain healthy depends heavily on trees. In addition to producing oxygen and

absorbing carbon dioxide, they serve as habitats for numerous wildlife species. Trees

also improve the general health and beauty of our landscapes by controlling water flow

and preventing soil erosion.

Planting trees has emerged as one of the most practical and efficient strategies for

people and communities to counteract global warming in an era where the effects of

climate change are becoming more evident. We can lessen the effects of climate change

by taking part in tree-planting campaigns.

NARRATIVE STATEMENT

PRELIMINARIES:

Our third dimension is the environmental education dimension and what we did was

planting tree to provide a widespread friendly ecosystem and I visit the office of agriculture

located at the barangay sta. potenciana to take a picture.

ACTIVITIES:

In the barangay delnorte Mapanas, Northern Samar, we engaged in a variety of activities as

part of their tree planting initiative. These activities were designed to educate, involve, and

empower the students while fostering a sense of community and environmental stewardship.

These activities collectively helped the learners in Barangay Del Norte, Mapanas, develop a

strong foundation in environmental stewardship, practical skills in tree planting and care, and

a lifelong commitment to preserving and enhancing their natural surroundings.

By this activity we visit the agriculture of the brgy sta. potenciana to ask if we can have some

any kind of trees to plant and they allow us to do that.

PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

Here are some common problems encountered during tree planting efforts, particularly in a

community setting like Barangay Del Norte, Mapanas:

 Inadequate Water Supply

 Extreme Weather Conditions

 Pest and Disease Infestation

 Lack of Community Engagement

 Lack of Expertise and Knowledge.

RECOMMENDATION

Planting trees is a rewarding endeavor that can significantly benefit the environment and

community. To ensure successful tree planting, here are several recommendations:

 Select tree species that are native to the region. Native trees are better adapted to local

soil, climate, and pests, which increases their chances of survival and reduces

maintenance needs.

 Test and amend the soil to ensure it provides the necessary nutrients for tree growth.

Consider adding compost or other organic matter to improve soil quality.

 Choose planting sites that match the specific requirements of the tree species,

including sunlight, drainage, and space for growth.

 Follow best practices for planting trees, such as digging a hole that is twice as wide

but no deeper than the root ball, positioning the tree straight, and avoiding planting

too deeply.

 Ensure that newly planted trees receive adequate water, especially during the first few

years. Develop a regular watering schedule.

 Protect young trees from physical damage caused by animals, vandalism, or

accidental impacts.

 Regularly monitor the growth and health of the trees and evaluate the success of the

planting project. Adjust practices based on observations and feedback.

 Incorporate sustainable practices in all stages of tree planting and maintenance to

minimize environmental impact.
