How to use TFTP automatically upgrade

Principle mechanism

When the device restarts, the device will ping 192.168.1.128 from the Uboot mode. If the device
successfully pings the IP, it will use the IP as the server address and upgrade the firmware package
in the server. The upgrade is formatted, it will erase all the device configurations, including the
device IP.

Preparation

1. Tools
 TFTP automatic upgrade tool (hiktftp_v20.zip)
FTP Path: /Product File(Overseas)/00 Oversea Products/01 IP/01 IPC/17 Frequently-
used Tools/04 TFTP upgrade tool
 Firmware package

2. Tool configuration (Please contact the technical support to configure it first. Please do not
configure it yourself)
Change cn in the tftpserv.ini file to en (switch to overseas equipment upgrade)

Configure device model data in dev.cfg file, The upgrade tool will upgrade the device
according to the platform information in this file. If you do not want to upgrade other devices
by mistake, you can delete other platform information in this file and only keep the platform
information you need, The H8IPCG camera configure as follows:
Upgrade method

1. Keep the camera and computer at same network segment. Disconnect other network
connections of the switch, and keep the switch only with computers and devices to be
upgraded.
2. Configure the IP address of the device as 192.168.1.XXX

3. Configure the IP address of the computer as 192.168.1.128.

4. If you configured the first two steps correctly, you can now access the camera through the
webpage; if you cannot access the webpage, please recheck the above two steps.
5. Put the digicap.dav upgrade package in the same directory as tftpserv.exe and then open
tftpserv.exe

6. Power off-on/Reboot the device, and then the device will automatically upgrade.
7. When this message is displayed, it indicates that the upgrade package has been completely
sent to the device. At this moment, close the tftpserv.exe and wait for the device to write the
firmware package to the device.
8. If you have a serial cable, you can connect the serial port of the device. When you see
*****UPDATE COMPLETE*****, the device has been upgraded successfully, power off-on
the device again, the device will become inactive and can use normally after activation;

If you do not have a serial cable, please wait 10 minutes after close the tftpserv.exe. Then
power off-on the device again, the device will become inactive and can use normally after
activation.

Attention

1. TFTP upgrade is a format upgrade. You need to save the configuration parameters of the
device first, and then import the parameters after the upgrade.
2. After the upgrade is successful, the device will not restart automatically, and manual restart is
 required.
3. Close the TFTP tool before manual restart, otherwise it will be upgraded again after restart.
