Synopsis - Mumbai, bombay, bambai, mumba devi ke charno me basi hai ye basti. unch, nich ke pare, jaat - dharam se pare, jis seher ke ghar gali me rehti hai ek hasti.
Ye hai sapno ka seher. Kehte hai sapno ki seema aasmaan tale honi chahiye, lekin yaha aate aate, kathinaiya par karte karte, kayiyoon ke sapno par chat sama jaati hai.
Lekin chat na hamare mumbai waalon ko rokti hai, na unke jazbaaton ko todti hai, lage rehte hai hamare log yunhi…. Chat ke niche ke kamro ka size chota ho ya bada,
sapne kabhi chote nahi hote.

Aesthetics of the film - As a poetic documentary, the film integrates lyrics, narration, and rhythmic music with only the visuals to depict the distinct stories, nuances, and lives of various
houses from radically contrasting regions of Mumbai. The narrative discusses the dreams of those people, and the amalgamation of visual and artistic elements reflects upon the lives of
those living in those houses. The boxes containing food items and drysuits illustrate how confined people live in their own homes. The first home depicts the lower middle class hearth
and how, despite looking small through the frames of a camera, they contain an abundance of people, love, and affection. The shot of the housemaid cooking highlights how the upper
class folks of their own homes lack time for things and how their maids spend more time in their homes than the owners do. Mirrors in affluent homes are a symbol of people's incessant
need to look at themselves, which makes them feel better, and at others, which makes them feel inferior. While the narration conveys the exact meaning of what it says, it also discusses
how people's dreams eventually become obscured by the weight of roofs i.e, their houses, particularly in a place like Mumbai. Both of the distinct songs elevate the movie; the first is an
optimistic tune fitting the narration and various montage in the first half of the film while the second one corresponds the first house's vintage appearance, and the gradual rock guitar
solo fitting the higher class house. The title "Sapno ki chhat" the dreams, the people, and the houses is enhanced by all of the mentioned elements.
