Remedy: order replacement pressure reducer, express delivery.
False Oil Mist Alarms with engine stop/slow down due to Humidity Problem:
Beside the previous described problem with LED No. 14, in some rare cases under
heavy circumstances humidity can lead to malfunctions of the Oil Mist detector, e.g.
false high Oil Mist Alarms. This can happen, when a water drop is passing through the
detector’s light measuring track, releasing an Alarm.
To fix the humidity problem, Schaller Automation offers as an option a measuring head
heating element for an easy modification of existing Oil Mist detectors.
The external heating element can be easily installed within 10 min. by the crew
themselves. Location is on top of the measuring head, heating up directly the area
around the detectors infrared light measuring track, avoiding the optical system to be
disturbed by condensed water. Electrical connection value will not change as the
electrical value is identical with the standard heating element. Only the heating element
location is different.
