The recently conducted training was facilitated for the purpose of making the teachers

the IPCRF POrtfolio of teachers. The speaker again is no other than our Master Teacher
Mrs Mary Lucy C. Rosales. She had givena resounding and brilliant thoughts on different
ways how to complete the said potfolio. She was been able to expound the topic
comprehensively. Then again the second day was veer successfully conducted.

The third day of the INSET January 29,2024, started with a short program headed
by the Host maam BB. Nicolsaita J. Pahit together with the TWG Team.At exactly 8:30 in
the morning maam Mary Lucy C. Rosales begun discussing her topic about Revisiting The
Elements of Reading. There are five aspects to the process of reading: phonics, phonemic
awareness, vocabulary, reading comprehension and fluency. These five aspects work
together to create the reading experience. These are the important discussion that maam
Rosales was stressing out during her discussion. After which Yours Truly Mrs. Rosemarie
E. Lozada as the second speaker was discussing about the Marungko Approach of
teaching. In her discussion she emphasized how the Marungko Approach method of
teaching reading to beginners in the Philippines. It is designed to help children develop
their reading skills by using a combination of syllabic and phonemic approaches, along
with visual aids and hands-on activities that make learning more engaging and enjoyable.
The said approach has been successful in helping many Filipino children become
proficient readers of Filipino. It is an innovative method that uses keywords, pictures, and
stories to help children recognize and understand the sounds and meanings of words.
The approach was created by Dr. Ester T. R. Estopace, a Filipino reading specialist, who
recognized the need for a comprehensive and engaging approach to teaching reading in
the Philippines. Mrs Lozada also let the participants walktrough on how to teach children
through following the correct steps on Teaching using the Marungko. She also let them
watched her Teaching Demo during the Division Wide Seminar on the said topic. The
sessions that day was indeed a succesful one.
The fourth day arrived January 30,2024 and the session started with our first
speaker the garade 1 teacher Mrs. Gwendolyn Eborde, talked about the Differentiated
Activities in Teaching Reading and workshop and making of Reading materials. She
satrted her discussion with these Phrases “Just as everyone has a unique fingerprint,
every student has an individual learning style. Chances are, not all of your students grasp
a subject in the same way or share the same level of ability. So how can you better deliver
your lessons to reach everyone in class? Consider differentiated instruction—a method
you may have heard about but haven’t explored, which is why you’re here. In this article,
learn exactly what it means, how it works, and the pros and cons”.These are the salient
points she wanted to share to the groups ,eventually the most important part of her
session was giving the participants the different kinds of Instructional differentiated
activities. We had extended as well more on techniques on how to lessen the use of
resources (time and school supplies). It was fun and very engaging session.
In the afternoon Mrs. Luzminda L. Mendez, Her actual demonstration on the
teaching Reading using the Marungko Approach was shown to the group. The Teaching
Demo ended with a fliying colors, headed by our School Head maam Marilou S. Saranza
together with the observers. Each one of us presented our outputs, our shared insights
was fruitful and engaging which is thoroughly done with ample games and interactive

challenging and inspirational words to stand in one to reach our common goal for the
general welfare of the students and community.

REFLECTION:

encouragement as they marked the closing of the event. This relevant In Service
Training promotes team building, develop better insights, approaches strategies for
educational progress.Truly, DepEd’s mission in times of struggles and difficulties
continues! Nothing hampers our goals and aspirations to provide for educational
welfare despite the challenges. We need to functionally promote a sole
responsibility, act with determination, dedication, selfdiscipline, and efforts to
surpass this school years. Alone, reaching our goals would be impossible, but
together, we can make it happen.
