Acceptability of monggo (Vigna radiata) polvoron

ABSTRACT

This experimental study aimed to determine the acceptability of monggo (Vigna

radiata) polvoron. The participants of the study were 10 students, 10 teachers and 10

parents at Dumangas National High School during school year 2023-2024. The

evaluation of the respondents in terms of appearance, aroma, texture, palatability, and

general acceptability of monggo polvoron was determined using the five-point rating

scale. The mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistics. Even though

the main ingredients of the monggo polvoron was monggo, the result showed that it was

still acceptable. This implies that monggo was not a factor that could affect the

acceptability of the polvoron in terms of appearance, aroma, texture, palatability, and

general acceptability.The results showed that there were no significant differences in the

four treatments of Monggo (Vigna radiata) Polvoron in term of appearance, aroma,

texture, palatability, general acceptability. This means that the difference that existed is

very minimal and did not matter at All Treatments are still acceptable. These findings

suggest that Monggo (Vigna radiata) Polovoron has the potential to be marketable.

Furthermore, the researchers recommended that the appearance, aroma, texture,

palatability of the mongo polvoron

must be improved but still maintain its consistency because visually appeal, its unique

aroma, and fine texture adds to the overall attractiveness of the product to the

customers. Lastly, the researchers recommend this monggo polvoron to students,

teachers, and parents for a simple and affordable product to make for starting a business

or even just for a delicacy for their family.
