ESSAY PROMPTS LIST:

Your uncle and aunt own a shop which is busy and successful. You sometimes help in
the shop during your holidays. Your English teacher asks you to make a speech to
your class about the shop and your experience of working there. Write your speech.\
You must include the following:
• what kind of shop it is and what you do there
• why the shop is so busy and successful
• why working in the shop is a useful experience for you.
Cover all three points above in detail. You should make your speech interesting and
informative. Start your speech: ‘Good morning, everyone.’

Good morning everyone,

I just want talk to you about the importance of part time work for teens
● Last summer I had the opportunity to work part time at Kool Koffee, a coffee shop
owned by my aunt and uncle. The shop is located in Khayaban E Bukhari in Phase 8.
I worked there as a trainee barista, which was a new and thrilling experience for me.
The coffee shop serves a variety of imported coffees, snacks and desserts.

● I have realised that Kool Koffee has been highly successful as a business due to
several reasons. Firstly, they operate very long hours: they open at 6am and close at
midnight. So it is the favourite place for many office goers because they can grab a
coffee on their way to work every morning . The coffee shop is also very popular
because not only doesit have the best coffee in town but the baristas are also highly
trained and can make any brew of the customers choice. There is a wide variety of
pastries and desserts available to accompany the coffee. Every afternoon students
love to come with their group of friends and make use of the free wifi connection. The
ambiance is wonderful, it also has a really good vibe and comfy couches which
makes it very comfortable and cozy environment for the customers.
● This experience has been so useful to me, and has made me realise the importance
of part time work for all of us young adults. By working at the coffee shop, I have
learnt the value of hard work, and I have also learnt how to effectively manage my
own finances. It has really made my respect increase for the people who are working
in restaurants as it is a really exhausting and tiring job. Secondly I also got to know
the value of hard work and how difficult it is to earn money. I gained useful,
marketable skills such as improving my communication, learning how to handle
people, developing interview skills and filling out job applications. I also gained more
confidence, a sense of responsibility and independence. It was a good experience for
me as I got my first salary and it was a happy moment because that was my first time
doing a job and getting paid.I highly recommend that all of you also apply for part
time jobs in your next summer holidays. You won’t regret it!

Thank you all for your attention.
