Select a famous leader that you would like to study and analyze. We will select leaders in class to
ensure that there are no duplicates. Analyze this leader using an array of sources that inform your
research (e.g., biographies, news articles, social media posts, etc.). Then, write a report that details
your findings and analysis. Your paper should be organized as follows:
Background (1 page): Introduce the leader and provide relevant background information.
What are they famous for and what are some of their primary accomplishments? What is their
overarching mission?

contemporary/rival leaders.

Recommended Resources
Please note that the resources listed are examples for you to use as a starting point in your
research – the list is not definitive.
Our textbook, lectures, suggested articles and videos, and other class materials will be
necessary to understand the concepts that you will apply and critically evaluate in this report.
You are expected to conduct your own outside research on your leader. You may use sources
such as:
o Wikipedia – This is a fine starting point to get some summary knowledge and point you to
other primary sources of information. However, this should not be your only source of
information.
o Biographies – Consider finding biographies that detail the life of your leader. These may
be books, articles, or documentaries.
o Social Media – If you are studying a contemporary leader, you may research their social
media posts, as this provides a primary source of information into their thoughts and
behaviors.
3
o News Reports – News reports often give first- or second-hand accounts of relevant events
that pertain to your leader. Stick to the facts of the news report and provide your own
analysis and conclusions.
* Please note that grades are provisional. They are only confirmed once internal and external verifiers
