 One day, a mousedeer went out
to look for food. While it was
searching for food, it came across a
big and deep hole.

into the hole.
“Help! Help!” it shouted. Nobody
heard the mousedeer.

 Suddenly, black cloud gathered

above. It was going to rain.

Later, came thunder and

lightning.

 “If it rains heavily, this hole will be

filled with water. I will die,” said the

mousedeer.

 The mousedeer heard footsteps of
an animal running. It could guess that
it was an elephant.
“Hei! Mr. Elephant,” shouted the
mousedeer.

 The elephant was puzzled. It
walked towards the big hole.
“Oh! It’s you. Did you accidentally
fall into this hole?” asked the
elephant.
“No! I’m hiding. As you can see,
the sky is falling down,” answered
the mousedeer.

 The elephant looked up. The sky
was getting darker. “Broom!” came
the thunder. It felt so scared. The
elephant believed what the
mousedeer had told him.

 Without wasting time, the

elephant jumped into the hole. It

wanted to hide too.

 “Now, can you lift me out. I want
to see whether the sky has fallen or
not,” said the mousedeer.
So the elephant lifted the
mousedeer out the hole using its
trunk.

 When it was outside the hole, the
mousedeer laughed and said, “Ha!
Ha! Actually the sky becomes dark
because it is going to rain. The sky
never falls down.”
