Earthquake is one of the famous disaster caused people die or injure. It cannot be predicted when and where it
would happen. This mostly happens in places where people are hanging around and working. Earthquake is
understood by being a natural phenomenon caused by the constant movement of the earth’s crystal plates and due to
climate change.

In this connection, it is our responsibility to practice and internalize the risk reduction measure to eventually make a
habit of being prepared before, during and after a calamity, be it natural or human made. On November 10, 2022 at
9:00 in the morning, the school DRRMC, Ligaya M. Valdez spearheaded the conduct of the Third quarter National
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at Nazareth elementary School. The said earthquake drill was started by an
Narratives orientation on essential information needed by both teachers and the learners. The teachers, pupils and parents did
their best to portray their roles especially the proper action and response during earthquakes

After the drill, an evaluation was done. A total of 1,311 individuals have participated in the activity. The SDRRMC
congratulated the participants for the job well done. Several suggestions were
also given to improve the participants’ performance on the emergency evacuation procedures and to ensure a safe
and orderly evacuation to prevent loss of lives and injuries especially if real earthquakes occur.

Lesson Learned 1. Disaster risk reduction is every one’s concern.
