Statement of Purpose-Study Plan

I feel fortunate to get this opportunity and it is with a sincere sense of gratification that I
open my brief statement of purpose. The pursuit of knowledge has always been my obsession
and the propelling force behind my motivation for higher studies. My decision to pursue
graduate study blends harmoniously with my eventual objective of taking up a research-oriented
career in
Finance & Economics with specialization in “Finance & Economics” from the Virtual
University, Lahore. As quoted, the need to be creative and to think beyond the existing
boundaries will determine the new concepts in Islamic finance and implecation of its in the
future. Moreever, and I want to be a part of such exciting endeavors. To achieve this, I would
like to pursue my Ph.D studies with Research Area “Finance in relation to economic growth”
and be a part of the research that would be at the forefront of such changes.

Academic Background
Resently I have completed my Masters in Science (Finance) from Virtual University,
Lahore, Pakistan. My Master’s thesis is titled “Finance”. Our research aims to determine impact
of implication of finance in different sector of business and that it can facilitate decisions making
and tell us the advanteges of such implication of finance. The correct recognition of finance can
positively contribute in the economy. Moreover, I have completed the course work and covered
the following courses such as Corporate Finance, Advanced Research Methods, Investment Analysis &
Portfolio Management, Credit & Risk Management, Project Management, Managerial Accounting. Apart
from having academic proficiency, I have participated actively in many extra-curricular activities
like cultural, social service events and sports. I love sports, and I was criket team member of
Univeristy of science & technology, Bannu and contribute vital role in wining of matchs at many
occasions during my Bachelor’s Degree and also participated club cricket. I also did a lot of
volunteer/welfare work at flood effected area in south Punjab. Being recognized as a person
with good leadership qualities, maintaining the right balance between academics and extra-
curricular activities, I am appcriciated at different occasions.

Since my childhood, I was greatly impressed by the Islamic way of financing (shariah)
therefore, I selected Finance as my undergraduate major. I have done my bachelors in Business
Administration at University of science & technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. I have secured good
grades in my studies so far. I took a keen interest in Accounts & Finance courses. But my keen
interests were in these courses: Financial Management, financial Accounting & Corporate
reporting, Managerial Accounting etc. I am Chartard Management Accountant (Finalist) where I
studied the Management Accounting and Financial Management in very details. All these
courses thoughted in made me more and more curious about the Financial system of economy.
My Master degree is with course work but I have two research paper in the review phase
on “Finance in relation to economic growth” & “Oil prices Vs Stock Market integration”
(Future Recommendation is work on Finance). The purpose of this research was to determine the
impact of Islamic finance on overall economy and develop an assistive device or mechonisim to
functionalize the Islamic/shariah rules of finance and allows them to execute daily life financing.
In the long run, this mechanisim will be controlled using sharih rules.
Currently I am working in power sector National Transmission & Dispatch Company
Limited as an Auditor of Financial and Cost/Expenses of the company. Also ensure compliance
of company & Pakistani Rules & Regulations/laws.
Study Plan in Taiwan
I am applying for Doctorate Degree in “Finance” with Research Area “Finance VS
Taiwan economy and its implication in oil & Gas sector” at “I-Shou University Taiwan"
because my Bachelor’s and Master was also relevant to this field and this research background
motivates me to study deeper about. My theoretical understanding of the control System came
with my studies of classical control theories embodied in such courses as Advance robotics,
Industrial Automation, Control Engineering, Linear Systems Theory, Linear Algebra in
Automatic control and Optimal and Robust Control. I also came to develop a relatively thorough
understanding of feedback control and some methods of system design. With those
understandings, I tried my own hands at designing and experimenting with a closed-loop
feedback system. However, as I delved deeper into my studies, I came to discover that the
classical feedback-based control theories could no longer meet the requirements posed by
modern large-scale and complicated systems. Their challenges could only be answered by some
database-based, intelligence-oriented theories. Therefore, I purposely self-studied some courses
exclusively offered to graduate students—Artificial Intelligence, Neural Network, Self-Adaptive
Control, etc. Although the theories incorporated in those courses could by no means work out all
the problems in modern control, their effectiveness in improving production efficiency made me
all the more determined to devote myself to the studies in control theories. I believe that I will
create new standards in the field of robotics. My Doctorate Degree will help me to work in that
field more dedicatedly and slake my thirst for knowledge. After my Doctorate Degree, I aim at
producing some quality journal papers that would contribute and serve the field.
My Career path plan
The ultimate goal for my career path is to take up an exacting and influential position,
either in the academic field or the industrial field, where I can do independent research and
development work and can create new standards in Control Theory and Control Engineering. In
Academia, I would like to convey the knowledge of my field in such an interactive manner that
the students get motivated and enthusiastic to perform in the field of Control Theory and Control
Engineering. Bearing these long-term goals in mind, my immediate objective is to work towards
M.S, whose importance in laying a strong foundation for a successful career in research is
paramount. After M.S degree I aim towards doing my Doctorate Degree such that it polishes my
intellectual and educational capabilities further and strongly prepares me for the career
challenges. I have set forth for my future career plans, be it in academics field.
Why China
Whenever I see the people of China, I get impressed and thank God that He gave us such
an inspiring neighbor nation and ally. As a Pakistani, I have brotherly and dedicated emotions for
the people of China. I have always wished to learn such passion and dedication from the people
of China because of their undeniable passion and struggle for their country’s progress. Moreover,
China’s growing economy, industrial advancements, and technical expertise have always
attracted me since primary school life. The rankings of educational institutes of China among the
other institutes of the world motivate me further to pursue my Ph.D. degree after completing the
Master’s degree Being a Pakistani (belonging to a developing country) I see China as a perfect
role model for growing from an underdeveloped country to a developed country. I dream the
same for my own country and I have to work hard to make that dream come true. In the end, I
will like to thank you for giving your precious time and attention to reading my statement of
