ADVERTISEMENT

Public Works Department, Govt. of Assam invites applications from Indian Citizens for the
under‐mentioned posts under Public Works Department, Government of Assam under Regulation 3(f)
of the Assam Public Service Commission (Limitation of Functions) Regulations, 1951, in the Scale of Pay
and Grade Pay as indicated below along with other allowances as admissible under Rules of the Govt. of
Assam. The appointment will be purely on ad‐hoc basis for a period of 4 (four) months. To be eligible for
regular appointment under PWD a candidate must qualify himself/herself through regular recruitment
process. This appointment under Regulation 3(f) of APSC shall not be a ground for claiming regular
appointment whatsoever in future.

4. Scale of Pay: Rs. 14000‐49000 PB 2 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/‐ plus other allowances as
admissible under the Rules of the Govt. of Assam.

5. Eligibility Criteria:
(i) The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of
India and must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
(ii) The candidate must produce a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for
educational purpose as proof of Residency with the application.

6. Age: The candidate should not be less than 21 years of age and more than 44 years of age as on
3.3.2018. The upper age limit is relaxable upto :-
(i) 5 (five) years for SC/STP/STH candidates i.e. upto 49 years.
(ii) 3 (three) years for OBC/ MOBC candidates i.e. upto 47 years and
(iii) 5(five) years for Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates i.e. upto 49 years irrespective of
SC/ST/OBC and General Category candidates.

The Rules & Regulations/Notifications/Orders issued by the Govt. of Assam from time to time
will prevail in case of any discrepancy.

7. For PwD Category candidates:


(i) Orthopedically Handicapped with at least one arm and one leg.
(ii) Hearing Handicapped may be considered if he or she can perform with the use of aids
and appliances.
(iii) Low Vision may be considered if he or she can perform with the use of aids and
appliances.
(iv) Must possess necessary certificate issued by the competent authority and having
benchmark disability.
(v) Application must be supported by necessary PwD certificate issued by competent
authority.

8. Educational Qualification:
(i) Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute.

(ii) Apart from English, the candidate should have adequate knowledge of atleast 1 (one)
official language of the state of Assam (i.e. Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo), except
candidates belonging to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council and Dima Hasao
Autonomous Council.

9. How To Apply:
(i) Candidates are required to apply in prescribed form through online mode only. No other
mode for submission of application is allowed.
(ii) All original documents must be produced at the time of interview for physical verification.
If documents are found to be not in order, the application of the candidate will be
rejected.
(iii) Instructions for filling up prescribed online form will be available in websites:
http://www.apwd.in, https://pwdroads.assam.gov.in.
(iv) Application fees amounting to Rs. 250/‐ (Rs. 125/‐ in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) shall
be paid online through the payment gateway while submission of applications.
(v) Before applying online, candidates are advised to carefully go through the instructions
provided in the above websites. Candidates are required to upload a latest passport size
photograph, photocopy of the Admit Card/Certificate of H.S.L.C. examination(towards age
proof), Diploma certificate, Scanned Signature, Employment Registration Certificate,
Caste Certificate (in case of reserved category candidates), Disability Certificate (in case of
PwD) issued by competent authority. No other documents i.e. the hard copy of the online
application form registration slip, etc. are required to be sent to the Public Works
Department.
(vi) ONLINE FORM MAY BE FILLED UP W.E.F. 24.08.2018 TO MIDNIGHT OF 7.09.2018 ONLY.
MANUAL APPLICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

10. Written Test / Interview:


(i) The selection will be done on the basis of total marks obtained in the written test (160
Marks) and viva‐voce/ interview (40 Marks).
(ii) The Department will hold Multiple Choice Objective Type Written Examination for Paper I
and Part I of Paper II and Multiple Choice Objective Type Written Examination/ Short
Descriptive Type Examination for Parts II & III of Paper II.
(iii) The Syllabus for Paper I (Civil Engineering) and Paper II (General Studies) will be available
in the Departmental Website (https://www.apwd.in, https://pwdroads.assam.gov.in) in
due course.

CANVASSING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY SHALL DISQUALIFY A CANDIDATE.

No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in the Written Test/Interview.
