3RD AREA: SAFETY AND WELLBEING ONLINE
WHAT IT MEANS:
Safety and wellbeing online means knowing how to stay safe on the internet and taking care of your
mental and physical health while using digital devices.

EXAMPLES:
Creating strong passwords: Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols to keep your accounts secure.
Recognizing and avoiding scams: Being able to tell when a website or email is trying to trick you into
giving away personal information.
Managing screen time: Taking breaks and not spending too much time on screens to keep your eyes and
mind healthy.
Cyberbullying: Knowing what to do if someone is mean to you online, like telling a trusted adult.
SAFETY TIPS:
Don’t share your passwords with anyone except your parents.
Only talk to people you know online.
If something online makes you feel upset or uncomfortable, tell an adult right away.
1ST AREA: USING DIGITAL TOOLS

MICROSOFT WORD
Purpose: It is used for creating documents such as letters, reports, essays,
and resumes.

MICROSOFT EXCEL
Purpose: It is used for organizing data in tables, called spreadsheets. It helps
you to perform calculations, and create charts and graphs to visualize data
easily.

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT
Purpose: It is used to create slideshows for presenting ideas and information.
INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT WORD

It is used for creating documents such as letters, reports, essays, and resumes.
It's like a digital paper where we can type stories, make school projects, and
even make letters.

USE CASES OF WORD DOCUMENTS

Writing Stories: You can write stories and essays.


School Projects: Create projects with pictures and text.
Letters: Write letters to friends, family, or teachers.

HOW TO CREATE A NEW WORD FILE AND SAVE AS DOCUMENT
1. Open Microsoft Word: Click on the icon on your computer.
2. Start a New Document: Click on "Blank Document" to start typing.
3. Type Your Text: Write your story or project.
4. Save Your Document:
5. Click on the "File" tab at the top left.
6. Choose "Save As."
7. Name your file and choose where to save it (like in a folder on
your computer).
8. Also Simply click the Save icon on the Quick Access Toolbar or
press Ctrl+S to save changes to an already named document.
RIBBON BAR

The Ribbon Bar is the colorful strip that runs across the top
of Microsoft Word. It’s divided into different tabs.
1. Home Tab
Purpose: The Home tab has buttons for basic things you do
often, like changing how text looks or arranging paragraphs.

2. Insert Tab
Purpose: The Insert tab is where you add things to your
document.

3. Page Layout Tab


Purpose: The Page Layout tab lets you change how your page
looks.
4. References Tab
Purpose: The References tab helps you add and manage special
things like citations, tables of contents, and footnotes.

5. Review Tab
Purpose: The Review tab is for checking and changing your
document, like fixing mistakes and adding comments.

6. View Tab
Purpose: The View tab helps you change how you see your
document on the screen.
A BRIEF ON FILE TAB
Imagine the File tab like the front door of your house for your
document. It's where you do important things like create, open,
save, and print your work.

Create: When you want to start a new document, you click on


"Create" to begin writing something new.
Open: If you have already written something and want to continue
working on it, you click on "Open" to find your document and bring
it back up on the screen.
Save: When you're done writing or making changes, you click on
"Save" to store your work safely on the computer so you can
come back to it later.
Print: If you want to make a paper copy of your document, you
click on "Print" to send it to the printer.
