MOOT COURT AND INTERNSHIP (CLINICAL PAPER- IV)
(PAPER: 6.5)

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING MOOT COURT MEMORIAL


1. The memorials have to be submitted on typed (computer printed) A4 size paper printed
on one side of the page and must contain:
(i) Cover Page: The cover page shall contain the Case Title, Year of the Moot Court
Examination, Name of the Court, and Team Code on the top right corner.
(ii) Table of Contents
(iii) Index of Authorities
(iv) Statement of Jurisdiction
(v) Statement of Facts
(vi) Statement of Issues
(vii) Summary of Arguments
(viii) Conclusion and Prayer
(ix) Bibliography.
2. The font should be in Times New Roman and the font size should be 12 (1.5 line space)
and for footnotes it should be Times New Roman, size 10 (single space).
3. ILI Footnoting citation needs to be followed.
4. The memorial must have a margin measuring one inch on all sides of each page.
5. The page numbering should be on the top right side of each page.
6. The arguments should not exceed 15 pages.
7. The memorial as a whole should not exceed 30 pages including the cover page.
8. For every moot problem, a minimum of 5 cases should be referred in total.
RULES FOR THE MOOT PROCEEDING:
1. The dress code for the student is full college uniform and they are required to carry their
College Identity Card.
2. The Language of the moot proceeding shall be English only.
3. The students shall have to prepare & argue the case as if they are appearing before the
Hon’ble Supreme Court or High Court.
4. Each team shall be given a total of 10 minutes for presenting their arguments, including
2 minutes for rebuttal and 2 minutes for queries from the judges.
5. All the student teams are expected to carry with them case laws and index of authorities
which they intend to refer.

A. Memorials:
1. One copy of the moot memorial from each side, in prescribed format is required to be
submitted on or before 12.07.2024. Memorials shall not be accepted thereafter and
the said team shall be Non-eligible for the moot proceeding.
2. Memorials shall be in the following format-
(i) Cover Page (1 page)
(ii) Table of Contents (1 page)
(iii) Index of Authorities (1 page)
(iv) Statement of Jurisdiction (1 page)
(v) Statements of Facts (1 or 2 pages)
(vi) Statement of Issues (1 Page)
(vii) Summary of Arguments (10 to 15 pages)
(viii) Conclusion and Prayer (1 page)
(ix) Bibliography (1 page).
3. Moot memorials should be in spiral binding format with soft cover, in BLUE COLOUR
for Petitioner and RED COLOUR for Respondent.
4. Teams are required to carry their own copies of moot memorials for the reference
during moot proceeding. Teams shall carry their personal laptops at their own risk.
5. The format of the moot memorials should be strictly followed.
