SECTION A (40 SCORES)

1. KAB Labs solution a company that trains people skills of ICT using their well-equipped
computer lab is planning for the end of year party which will take place from USA and
all employees have to be present at the party. This exposes a lot of danger to the ICT
tools since monitoring will not be possible.
Tasks
Identify the ICT tools that are most likely to be found in the computer lab. (5scores)

Guide the CEO Ms. Bella on various ways in which the computer lab and other ICT tools
will remain safe while in the party time. (5scores)

 2. Mr. Tom uses a computer to capture information about his business. Recently his
computer started to slow down and hang during use. Explain an appropriate solution that
he can use to solve the problem with his computer(10 scores)

3. John lives in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a businessman dealing in transport. His company is

called A&P Transporters. One morning, he called his friend. Monica who lives in Uganda
and introduced to her the idea of opening up a branch in Uganda. After the call, John sent
Monica an email giving the business details. The details had data obtained from different
research papers and pictures. When Monica received the email she called Musa on Skype
and they both had a conclusive discussion.

 SECTION B (60 SCORES)

5. Your school team recently went for national ball games in Mbarara district. They played and
after went for a tour at L. Victoria. They took photos using the games teacher’s phone camera as
they were enjoying the trip. Upon returning to school, the teacher saved the photos on a
computer in the folder with a capacity of 5.9GB. Learners who wanted the photos were asked to
bring their own CDs and transfer them.

(a) Explain how the learners were able to transfer the photos to their CDs (10 scores)

(b)How many CDs did they need to transfer all the photos if each CD has a capacity of
700MB? (5scores)

(c) Explain how the teacher transferred the photos from his phone to the computer (5
scores)

6.a) The annual schools debating competition will take place on 12th September next year at the
Ministry of Education Headquarters beginning at 8:30 am. The chief guest will be the president
who will arrive at 10:00 am. Other guests will include the Speaker of Parliament who will arrive
at 9:00am and the vice

President who will arrive at 9:30 am

The menu of the day shall be:

Sauce: beef, chicken, beans, groundnuts and green salad.

Food: Matooke, rice, posho, yams and sweet potatoes.

The invited schools have to be informed about the guests who will be coming and the day's
menu.

Task

Assuming that you are the coordinator of the competition, write a letter which will be later typed
using a laptop inviting the head teacher and the staff to the debating competition. (10scores)
