With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcome:
Assess different writing assignments by following the revising and editing process.
The activity consists of:
Step 1
- Attend the third web conference of the course. Take evidence (screenshots) of
your participation to be posted in the forum right after the meeting (1 at the
beginning, 4 in the development of the web and 1 at the end). Be sure your
name appears in the screenshots. If you do not participate, watch the recording
of such web conference, and write a summary to be posted in the forum one to
four days after the meeting date. The summary should have 300 words. It
should be professionally written, with proper punctuation, spelling, grammar,
and proper citation.
Step 2
- Go to the Learning Environment, actively read Lesson 8 pages 60 to 63, Lesson
9 pages 66 to 68, Lesson 10 pages 71 to 77 Lesson 11 pages 81 to 85 and
Lesson 12 pages 87 to 90 from the textbook A Practical Guide to Writing.
- Choose one of the lessons. Inform about the lesson you chose so that no topics
are repeated among students. Write an Opinion Paragraph about it. Use the
OREO Table to help you organize your ideas. Share in the forum your Opinion
Paragraph.
Step 3
- Come back to your 5-paragraph essay draft from Task 3, Step 3 and use the
below checklist to revise it. Write a clean version of your 5-paragraph essay
based on the checklist revision and share this clean version of your five-
paragraph essay in the forum.

- Verify the date for the third Web Conference so that you can plan your
participation accordingly.
In the Learning Environment, you must:
- Check the Course Contents and Bibliographic References for Unit 3.
- Download the Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric - Task 4
- Go to the discussion forum for the task and actively participate as requested in
Steps 1, 2 and 3.
