ABSTRACT

This abstract presents a very brief description of the details

that the present proposal contains. This proposal intends to
highlight the construction work of an auditorium at
Dakshinkali Municipality in Kathmandu. This project has been
initiated with the intention of providing the residents of the
municipality a designated place to organize various programs,
local plays, competitions to promote a sense of brotherhood
among the people. During the construction of this auditorium,
locally available materials and human resources will be used in
order to generate employment opportunities for the people. It
is estimated that the construction of the auditorium may
require approximately 2,50,00,000/- budget. Once the
auditorium is constructed at Dakshinkali Municipality, it has
been expected to bring more unity among the local people.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The residents of Dakshinkali Municipality in Kathmandu have

been having a difficult time conducting several programs of
social, cultural, religious as well as political nature due to the
absence of a designated space to conduct such program. This
has resulted in a mild conflict among the people of varying
cultures as well as political backgrounds as there are no
options of conducting the programs in order to promote unity
among the members of the community. Several initiatives
have been taken in order to conduct the programs in the
community playground under the open sky however those
plans have always been thwarted by unexpected rainfall as
well as extremely sunny and humid weather. Plans of
construction of an auditorium have been made known to the
local people several times by politicians just to garner votes in
the elections and several projects have been passed by the
local authorities on several occasions with no effective
implementation. Due to this, the residents of Dakshinkali
municipality have almost lost their hopes of conducting social
and cultural programs due to the lack of an auditorium. So, it
is necessary to listen to the needs of the people and construct
an auditorium in the municipality in order to promote unity
and brotherhood among the people.
RATIONALE

The auditorium in Dakshinkali Municipality has remained

unconstructed for a long time and it has forced the local
people to have a problematic time during festivals and during
period of local cultural and religious significance. In the past,
the different communities of people living in the municipality
have faced several problems due to unexpected rainfall and
unmanaged place for conducting different social and cultural
activities. Since this auditorium can be a convenient place for
the people from all castes and communities to meet and
celebrate, it can enhance the sense of brotherhood among the
people. So, it is essential for us to construct this auditorium at
the earliest possible time. For this very reason, our team has
decided to undertake the responsibility of constructing this
auditorium.
