I. RATIONALE

To ensure the quality of education on mental health, prevention of

illegal drug use, and awareness of teenage pregnancy among the members of
PYAP - SAWANG Chapter and youth constituents of Barangay Sawang, PYAP -
SAWANG Chapter President Gerald Deen F. Camarista, along with his officers,
in cooperation with the organization’s advisers Hon. Jhoewie Z. Españo
(Committee on Appropriation) and Hon. Allen Joy F. Camarista (Committee on
Education), have proposed a comprehensive initiative.

The recent rise in cases of teenage pregnancy in the province has led
to an increase in out-of-school youths, creating gaps in their education and
having a broader negative impact on our society. This initiative aims to
address these pressing issues by providing targeted actions and support to
affected youths, ultimately bringing hope and proper attention to their needs.
In addition to addressing these critical issues, the project seeks to promote
personal development among participants, foster and encourage social skills,
acquire new skills, instill a sense of responsibility, enhance community
service, and provide educational enrichment.

Given these challenges, PYAP - SAWANG Chapter President Gerald

Deen F. Camarista and his council, in cooperation with the Barangay Council
of Barangay Sawang, have proposed a project that will cater to the needs of
their constituents by raising awareness on teenage pregnancy, mental health,
and illegal drugs. This project aims to protect the youth and foster strong
relationships and camaraderie. Thus, we propose the project PAG-ASA:
PAGsasanay ng mga Kabataan para sa Aksyon, Serbisyo, at Aral.

II. OBJECTIVES

1. To promote personal development among participants, foster and encourage

social skills, acquire new skills, instill a sense of responsibility and community service
and educational enrichment.

2. To educate the youth participants on the critical issues of mental health, teenage
pregnancy, and illegal drug use through an interactive workshops/seminar, and
educational materials within the scheduled launching of the project. This objective
aims to increase knowledge and awareness, equipping the youth with the
information they need to make informed decisions and avoid risky behaviors.

3. To foster personal development and community engagement by organizing a

leadership training session, social skills workshop, and community service activities
for the youth participants, hereby instilling a sense of responsibility, enhancing social
skills, and promoting a culture of service and engagement.
