JOB PURPOSE:

Strategically Manage and Lead the Projects and Transmission Systems (Fibre and Satellite Support) and the
operation of the existing Satellite network and GES infrastructure facility, which includes all future upgrades / plans
in the network.
Also provide support to the National Manager Operations & Maintenance, Senior Manager IP Core and Network
Management, the Office of the GM Engineering, and the Executive Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree in Electrical & Communication Engineering is preferred
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Communication Engineering accompanied with at least 10 years of
technical experience is sufficient

Skills / Attributes:
• Engineering Management and Operations skills / experience
• Possess Project Installation and Management skills in electrical / communications industry
• Must be familiar with Power Systems and Installations
• Must be capable of overseeing the management of the Submarine Cable Station and have an understanding
and exposure in:
- Network Transmission Principles
- Satellite Transmission Principles
- Satellite RF and IP Training
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding techniques
- Satellite RF Operation and management
- Network Transmission and IP Skills

Knowledge:
• Be familiar with Satellite and Transmission Systems, i.e., involving Fibre Transmission and Satellite Support
• Have Executive Management experience and exposure in a similar industry
• Understand the key operations of PNG DataCo and its core business as the wholesale service provider to the
Information and Communication Industry and its primary purpose of building and operating the National
Transmission Network (NTN) in Papua New Guinea.

Work Experience:
• Must have hands-on experience with the management and operation of the National Transmission Network
(NTN).
• Have the experience and capability to manage and lead a team in achieving set Targets, Objectives and
overall Annual Plans for PNG DataCO.
