Sub.:- Instruction regarding 2 x 130 KVA SIV provided in Loco No. 22307
WAP – 4 Locomotive of ELS/BSL.

Vide RDSO instuction under ref., in Loco No. 22307 WAP -4 of ELS/BSL, M/s Hind
Rectifier Ltd., Mumbai make new type of Static Inverter (2 x 130 KVA) has provided.

Instruction for crew regarding operation & action taken after fault occured in (2 x 130
KVA) is pasted in both cab of this loco. Copy of instruction is enclosed herewith. (Copy
attached).

Therefore, it is requested to counsel to crew staff regarding operation & action taken
after fault occured in 2 x 130 KVA static inverter to avoid line failure & block section while
working on line.

INSTRUCTION FOR 2X130 kVA SIV UNIT

1. In initial condition, when Battery supply ON, wait for minimum 20 sec to
OFF the LSSIT signal on Driver Desk. Once LSSIT signal OFF, then DJ can
be close.

2. In Normal operation GREEN LED “SIV OK” will be ON, If any Fault occurs
RED LED “SIV FAULT” will be glow.

3. If any internal fault appears in any SIV Unit, LSSIT lamp will be glow on the
Driver Desk and the DJ will be open. In this case One SIV Unit will
automatically take over the entire load of other SIV Unit. LSSIT lamp will be
off after 10 sec and DJ can be closed. No RESET is required in this
condition & Loco move normal towards Home Shed for SIV attention.

4. If Earth fault appears in Load side of SI Unit, “RED” Output Earth Fault LED
on SIV Display panel will glow and “SIV not Pick-up” message appears on
Driver display, manually open DJ and put HSIV switch on “0” position. In
this condition “Earth Fault Bypass Switch” should be turned ON in both
SIV panel and press the RESET button in both SIV panel. After turning
OFF the LSSIT Lamp on Driver desk, DJ can be closed. Loco driver has 45
minutes to clear the block section. Loco move towards Home Shed for SIV
attention.

5. In LT Mode operation, if any fault message appears on SIV display

please IGNORE. During change over to HT operation press RESET
switch on SIV display.
6. If Input Earth fault LED glow then Loco made dead and book to Home shed
or nearest Shed for SIV attention.
7. Sometimes in normal operation during panto bouncing LSCHBA Lamp glow
with message showing on Driver display “Battery Charger Output Fail” If the
LSCHBA Lamp turns OFF within 30 Sec. please ignore this message.

8. Whenever press RESET button on SIV display, please hold at least 3 Sec.

1. ारं िभक थित म, बै टरी की आपू ित ON के बाद, LSSIT LAMP को बं द होने के

िलए ूनतम 20 सेकंड की ती ा कर। जब LSSIT LAMP बं द हो जाता है , तो DJ
ोज िकया जा सकता है ।

2. सामा थती म GREEN LED "SIV OK" ब ी जलती रहेगी, अगर कोई भी Fault
होता है तो RED LED "SIV FAULT" ब ी जलेगी।

3. यिद िकसी भी SIV Unit म कोई Internal Fault आता है , तो LSSIT LAMP डायवर
डे पर जलेगा और DJ Open होगा। LSSIT LAMP 10 सेकंड के बाद बं द हो
जाएगा और उसके बाद DJ Close कर सकते है । इस हालत म िकसी भी SIV को
RESET करने की आव कता नही ं है| इस थित म एक SIV Unit चािलत
प से अ SIV Unit का पू रा भार संभाल लेगा। लोको SIV के मर त के िलए
Home Shed को भेजे ।

4. यिद SIV Unit के लोड साइड म Earth Fault आता है , तो SIV Unit िड े पै नल पर
“RED” output Earth Fault LED जले गी और डायवर िड े पर “SIV not Pick-
up” message िदखाई दे गा, DJ को manually open करे और HSIV switch को
“0” position पर रखे । इस थित म दोनों SIV पै नल पर लगे "Earth Fault
Bypass Switch" को चालू करे और दोनों SIV Unit पै नल पर लगे RESET
बटन को दबाएं । डाइवर डे पर LSSIT LAMP बं द होने के बाद DJ Close करे ,
और 45 िमनट के भीतर ॉक से न अर करे | लोको SIV के मर त के
िलए Home Shed को भेजे |

5. LT Mode ऑपरे शन म, यिद SIV िड े पर कोई Fault Message िदखाई

दे ता है तो कृपया उसे नज़रअंदाज़ करे । LT से HT operation म जाते समय
SIV िड े पर लगे RESET SWITCH को दबाये ।

6. यिद Input Earth Fault LED जलती है तो लोको को Dead करे और होम शे ड या
िनकटतम शेड पर SIV मर त के िलए दे ।
7. कभी-कभी Normal Operation म Panto Bouncing के कारण LSCHBA Lamp
जलकर “Battery Charger Output Fail” संदेश डायवर िड े पर आता है और
LSCHBA Lamp 30 Sec म बंद होता है तो तो कृपया उसे नज़रअं दाज़ करे ।

8. जबभी SIV display पर लगे RESET बटन को दबाना हो तो, कृपया कम से कम 3

Sec. तक बटन को दबाये रखे |
