The purpose of this Method Statement is to describe the step-by-step procedure involved for the raft
foundation works and to ensure that the works are executed in according with the project requirement,
approved design shop drawing

4.0 Responsibilities:
1. Overall responsible & full authority of all activities at the project site.
2. The provision of details of various activities and obtain set out/check as needed.

2. Revise the method statement whenever essential during the entire duration of project.

7.1 General:
1. Relevant personal protective equipment should be provided and utilized by the workforce.
2. Appropriate Safety guidelines must be adhered during all stages of construction activity.
1. Required Permit to Work, if any shall be arranged prior to start of the activity.
2. The relevant permissions / clearances are to be obtained from the authority, prior to
commencement of the activity.
3. Obtain MEP clearance in advance and ensure all sleeves to be done prior to starting and proper
termination to be done.

signs, and warning flashers in the night

Setting out
1. Prior to the commencement of the work confirm and establish all reference points and levels by
the surveyor.
2. Locate, confirm, and protect control points prior to starting the site works.
Execution
2. Block work for shuttering will be installed as per the approved shop drawing
3. Bottom and top main reinforcement of the raft foundation will be installed as per approved
drawing and fixed properly to maintain its position during concreting.
4. Reinforced steel bar is installed a per the approved shop drawing. Column & starter bar will be
installed as per the drawing, and shall be properly fixed so that it maintains the actual position
during the concreting.
6. While placing steel it shall be ensured that water proofing is not damaged.
7. All the embedded MEP sleeves, pipes conduiting works should be completed.
8. Area shall be cleaned prior to concreting. Approved mix design shall be used for the raft
foundation concreting.
9. The concrete shall be pumped and compacted by the means of mechanical vibrator.
10. Top level of the concrete shall be marked clear to ensure proper level.
11. Concreting shall be carried out with from one end to the other end progressively without stop
to avoid cracks.
13. All necessary concrete testing as per the project requirement/contract shall be done prior to
commencement of the work.
15. Float shall be used for achieving desired finish as per project specification
1. Prior to concrete testing client / consultant shall be notified about the testing location, Date, time
& type of testing.
3. Work Inspection Requests (WIR) shall be raised to the Client/Consultant for the following stages
of work as per ITP.
4. Relevant test report shall be maintained & copy shall be forwarded to the client / consultant.
