PURPOSE OF PROJECT: The purpose of an e-commerce website is
primarily to facilitate online transactions between buyers and sellers of goods or
services. Here are some key purposes of an e-commerce website:
 Customer Relationships: E-commerce websites enable businesses to
build and maintain relationships with customers through personalized
marketing, customer support, and loyalty programs.
 24/7 Availability: E-commerce websites are operational 24 hours a day,
7 days a week, allowing customers to shop at any time, regardless of the
physical store's operating hours.
 Cost-Effective: For businesses, maintaining an e-commerce website can
be more cost-effective than running a physical store, as it reduces
overhead costs associated with rent, utilities, and staff.
 Global Reach: Unlike physical stores, e-commerce websites are
accessible globally, allowing businesses to reach customers beyond their
reach.
SCOPE OF PROJECT: The scope of an e-commerce website project, it's
important to consider customers demand and ensure their clarity and quality
and manage expectations.

OVERVIEW: An e-commerce website project involves creating an online


platform where businesses can sell products or services to customers over the
internet:

 Target Audience: Identify the group of consumers most likely to want


your product or sevices and can fullfil their needs.
 Market Research: Analysing different marketing strategies of
competitors, industry trends, and customer preferences.
 Payment Gateways: Integrate secure payment gateways (e.g., PayPal,
Stripe) to process transactions.
 Shipping:It involves all the ecommerce operations after deliver it to the
customer including confirming the order, locating the relevant product,
packaging them, and having them picked up by the shipping company.
 Testing: Conduct through testing (functional, usability, performance,
security) to identify and fix issues.

to mobile devices, ensuring the website performs well on smartphones
and tablets.

Design And constraints : In our e-commerce website project,


design and constraints play crucial roles in shaping the functionality, user
experience, and overall success of the platform.

1. Ease of Use: Giving importance to simplicity and clarity in design to


minimize user confusion and facilitate smooth interactions.
